I'm attempting to maintain my sanity while traveling from LAX to Disney's Grand Californian. I'm hoping I can get some input regarding the different options available. We're avid WDW'ers, but this is our first trip to DLR. We decided to make this a FAMILY trip, but had some questions regarding securing transportation to the hotel from the airport. All you Disneyland vets, the advice is appreciated!

We'll be traveling :drive: with 8 adults and one infant (not bringing a car seat). I suppose we would need some sort of van/mini bus, sine we will be carrying quite a bit of luggage (1-2 pieces each and carry-ons. We've looked into 14-passenger vans, which seem like they will be large enough for us all. Also, we noticed some of the limo services offer car seats for a small fee, which we would need. :confused3

We also are looking for transportation from the Grand Californian to the pier in San Pedro. All of the above obviously holds true for this second leg of the trip (passengers/car seat, etc.)

We've looked into Disneyland bus shuttle/Super Shuttle, but they do not offer car seats, and we feel obviously more comfortable having the little one secured in a car seat for the 45 minute / 30 minute drives.

Thanks everyone for helping to make this trip a memorable one for our family! :thumbsup2

I dont know much about transportation options, but why are you not bringing a car seat for the infant? It seems that would open up some options (super shuttle) if you brought one from home.
And as far as Disnayland transport goes, they use Greyhound buses. IMO, if you feel you do not need a car seat on the plane, then you dont need one on the bus.

We took a private van from LAX to the Fairfield Inn by Marriot last October because it was going to cost us about the same amount of money as the Disneyland Express and we knew we would go directly from the airport to the hotel. We were traveling with 9 people and luggage. I called PrimeTime shuttle and talked with someone to make our reservations. It worked great for us. As for transportation to another location, just ask them. We just went to and from the airport. The trip back to airport was great. The van was downstairs waiting for us at least 30 minutes before we needed to load. They were great to work with. HTH!!!

I agree. Just gate check it if you're not wanting to bring it on the plane (from negative experience, have fun with that! bring some arnica or icy/hot for your muscles, LOL).

Disneyland Express is on Grayline buses, and there are NO carseats allowed, as there are no seatbelts. So you would just hold baby on the bus.

But I don't think they go to the port...you can check though...google "disneyland express grayline".

I was looking at supershuttle the other night and I'm pretty sure I saw that they go to the port.

But you will need a carseat to keep baby safe and legal unless you take the bus, so I'd just gate check your nice, safe, seat.
