My lens to my DSLR is broke, I need an inexpensive replacement. On craigslist there is a tamron lens that was on a Nikon SLR camera. Will that work on my DSLR Nikon??? Any info would be appreciated!

It will depend on which Nikon dslr you have and which Tamron lens it is. If you have a dslr with no focus motor(D40,D60 etc...) and the lens is an older lens it most likely won't autofocus for you. If you have a D50,D80,D90 etc...with a focus motor it 'should' be fine as long as it is a Tamron with a Nikon mount.

Also be aware that some older third party lenses just won't work with DSLR's. It's not a matter of limited functions, the lens just does not commuicate with the camera. Canon has this problem with some older Sigma lenses. I don't know if Nikon has this issue with any third party lenses, but I would check into it before you buy.

Thanks for the help! I went and tried it out and it worked, but made this horridly loud sound every time it auto focused, but then he had a Nikon one for $25 more that did work and it saved me hundreds of dollars, so it all worked out. Love Craigslist!
