We are leaving Wed. for Disneyland, staying at the Paradise Pier for the Dance the Magic program that my niece is participating in for a week. The plan was for my sister and niece to share a room with me and 2 of my boys. (17 &6 ) My 14 YO will be staying with a friend....no interest in watching his cousin dance - go figure. My mother in law was going to watch my 1 year old as he is a bit of a handful, and my DH will be away at work.

Here is where my dilemma starts....my MIL had a fall last night, and while she has no broken bones, she is VERY sore, and I can't in good conscience ask her to keep my tornado of a toddler for a week. There is no other child care option for him, so bringing him with us is the only solution if we are still to go. I have called the airline, and thankfully he will just cost $12 for the taxes on a lap seat for the flight, but I am concerned about the max. occupancy on the hotel room.

We have stayed as a family of 6 at the GCH before with no issue, but do you all think that it will be OK at PPH? We are staying concierge level, hopefully in a cabana room. We have a 2 queen + daybed room reserved, and the 6yo & baby will share a bed with me. My sister and niece will share a bed, and my 17yo will take the daybed.

I am really worried that we will be turned away at check-in, as the stated policy is MAX 5 adults.

Any info/tips etc. would be great.

First of all, welcome to the Dis boards fellow Albertan!!:lovestruc Always nice to see other people from my neck of the woods!:goodvibes Although I don't have any experience with this, my suggestion would be to call the hotel and plead your case. I would think that since they are in the people business that "stuff" happens all the time and that they would be sympathetic to your situtation. I am sure if you explained to them how you would be sleeping in the room they shouldn't have an issue, your child is, after all, a baby. I would hope they wouldn't give you a hard time for this.
Hope your MIL is feeling better and that you have a most magical trip:wizard: We will be there on Friday and can't hardly wait!!

Hi and welcome!!!

You should have no problems bringing a 1-year-old :thumbsup2 Are you sure your 17-year-old will be okay sleeping on the day bed though? Those are pretty short.

My son (who admittedly is extremely tall) opted to sleep on the floor rather than the day bed at the Grand. It's really made for someone under 5 feet ;) He just put the cushions on the floor and was good to go. Just watch out in the middle of the night if you have to get up for any reason!

You'll have to share some pics when you get back, especially if you do manage to get a cabana room. I've always wanted to stay in one of them!

I called and got a sympathetic cast member who told me that due to fire code there can only be 5 people in the room "officially" I guess that may be the way to go, only have 5 "official" guests.
BTW - very nice to be welcomed by a fellow Albertan!

Good point about the daybed - my 17yo is 6'5"

That was our issue - my 15yo is 6'4" :upsidedow

You really don't need the 1yo to be "official" - they don't need a key or a pass for anything anyway........
