Need Help Deciding which Resort

I stayed at the Dolphin once. It was the worst experience of my life. The bell hop took us to our room. We walked in and it smelled so bad that even he couldnt stay. He called the front desk and they sent us to another room that still had someone in it. The third room was filthy. The only other room open was overlooking an ugly roof. We took it because we had no choice. Then, in the walking from room to room, the bell hop had lost one of our bags -- it was the one that had my husbands meds in it. Of course we didn't realize it until an hour later when he went to take them. That turned into another fiasco with the front desk trying to locate the bellhop that took us around so he could retrace our steps and hopefully find it. Turns out it was in lost and found as a guest had picked it up and turned it in. That took three hours. In the mean time we missed our dinner reservation and the people we were supposed to meet up with. AND they never even offered to give us a discount on our room when we had paid for a great view. Will never stay there again.

You are too funny! That would definitely make me not want to stay there a second time or even recommend it to anyone. I am also planning on going to Universal Orlando for a few days and was thinking about staying on-site at the Portofino Bay Hotel. Friends just came back from a 2 night stay and they said the service there was horrible. I read so many good things about the hotel and was surprised by their experience. But it turned out that my friends stayed in a club level room and they did not get as quick and personalized service they are used to when staying at the Polynesian Club Level. I will not be staying club level so I do not have any expecations at all. It is all relative and depends on people's expectations.

I personally will never stay at GF again over Christmas but I know everyone looks at me crazy when I say that. It was all about my experience there. I also love CSR's food court but everyone looks at me like I'm crazy for that.

I'm with you on both points! I'm a Christmas @ WL girl and CSR is probably my fave mod
