I was just wondering if any of you had opinions about vacationing during Spring Break vs. vacationing during Thanksgiving. I have two twelve yr. olds and a nine yr. old. I have never been during Spring Break, but I would want to avoid the typical Spring Break scene party: (and I don't even know if that applies to US/IOA).

If you have any ideas about weather, crowds, etc., please let me know. I'm hoping to try to decide in the next week.

Also, when do the fireworks start and end???

Thanks!!

It appears that next years hours have been posted. Spring break for Orlando happens the first two weeks of April. Anytime the park stays open until 10pm, they usually have fireworks, which is really the lagoon show at USF.

You need to tell us if you are staying onsite or not. You can visit the parks during the busy spring break time if you show up early, but it means the crowds will be huge in the afternoon between the hours of noon and 5pm. That's a good time to leave, go back to your room, rest, then come back at 5pm for the evening. If you splurge and stay onsite, you can walk back and forth to the hotel.

Yes, we will be on-site! I've been during Thanksgiving and July 4, and liked both times of the year. I know what the weather and crowds are like during Thanksgiving, but was more wondering about Spring Break. I like the late park hours, but I don't know what the weather is like in the spring (rainy?) and I have no idea what the crowds would be like. Are there alot of college kids, families, etc.? I'm not really concerned about the ride lines, but I have heard that the atmosphere around the hotels/parks can get a little wild at times. Any input would be appreciated!!

Weather is not a problem in early April, records and averages are here.

The rainy season starts in June and runs thru September, so that won't be a problem. Pools are heated, so even if there is a late cold snap, you'll probably get to go swimming.

The only thing you'll have to look out for is packed walk ways in the afternoon. Go back to your room and rest from noon to 4pm. And if you want to eat at Margaritaville, the rush hour is 8pm. Try going to dinner at 6pm, otherwish they'll give you a beeper and you walk around Citywalk for half an hour.

Spring break can be great because you'll have UEPs and you can tour the parks at night.

Thanks!!! :thumbsup2

Just out of curiosity....any reason to pick Thanksgiving over Spring Break?

If you have handled July 4th at Universal, Spring break should be no problem for you.

I think my decision is made....when I called today for rates during Spring Break....they were a little steep!!! Thanks for the input!!
