Hey guys,

I'm planning a trip for my dance troupe to Universal and Sea World next August, we will be performing and enjoying the parks. We have already done Disney and I felt very confident in that as I know my way around WDW and know a lot about the resorts. Universal is a different story. I am at a loss.

When we went to WDW I chose on site because with 36 people going, I just felt it was a matter of conviniece. Also, I made the girls come back mid day for a rest each day. Made that easier.

Well now I'm planning Universal. Right now the qoutes I'm getting for what I requested (A three night trip) are either at the Sleep In and Suites (cheapest option) OR the Safari Shearaton for $40 more. I asked about "on site" at Uni and she said they could do it but it would be more expensive.

Now we will have a bus of our own to take us to and from the parks and we will also be doing Sea World ... but I'm thinking the bus will drop us off AM and pick us up PM from what she said. The more we use the bus the more $$ it is.

Then there is the whole FOTL thing. With only 1 1/2 days in Universal maybe the extra money would be worth it?

These are tweens and teens ages 9 - 18 .... along with a lotta siblings and parents.

Also ... from the website ... I'm thinking the Shearaton looks cooler that RPR???

Any input or thoughts would be great.

Funny that at both WDW and Hershey I decided on site was the best way to go and I was right ... so maybe I answered my own question. Just that darn Sea World day where it won't be useful!

Thanks!

If u thought staying onsite was convenient at Disney u will be amazed at Universal as its only a 10 min walk or closer to depending on the hotel u choose, believe me the RPR is very cool great theming and pool area:jester:

If you think staying on site at disney is convenient..you haven't seen anything yet.

The RPR...Universal's low end..is as nice, if not nicer than a disney deluxe resort. The rooms are beautiful..the whole resort is beautiful. A short boat ride or walk to the parks..you will only need to drive the bus on your sea world day..which would be really nice. The front of the line access..in august will be a godsend.

It will also be great for the adults in your party because of all the wonderful entertainment and restaurant options within walking distance.

With a group like this...RPR would be the only choice for me!!!

Stay at the RPR even if it costs more. The kids can come and go as they please, either walking, or taking the water taxi.

I also visited Hershey a few weeks ago and stayed at Hershey Lodge. The shuttle bus made things easy, as one night I drove to Dorney while the wife and daughter went back to HP to shop.

Thank you so much! I just asked her for a rate qoute on RPR. Now cross your fingers for me that it is not waaaay to expensive!

Thanks

Alycia
