I am traveling (me, dd 7, dd 6) to Disney on the free dining in December (with no park hopper). I had to add days to get the free dining. So now I need more places for table service meals. Any suggestions of somewhere (other than what I have listed below) that you would "not miss" while in Disney and a brief description (please)?

12/2 nothing get in very late no dining
12/3 Cinderella gala at GF 8pm
12/4 Akerhaus epcot 4:55pm
12/5 Chef Mickey's contemp 7:30pm
12/6 Hollywood & Vine DHS 4:25pm
12/7 none (will be in MK)
12/8 Crystal Palace 4:15pm
12/9 Garden Grill 6:30pm
12/10 none (will be in MK)
12/11 none (will be in EPCOT)
12/12 Donalds bfast 8am

I would say Ohana's. It's family style in the Polynesian hotel. The have games for the kids (such as the coconut race with broomsticks)

In Hollywood studios I would go with Sci Fi or 50s Prime Time. Especially for your childrens age I think the atmosphere they would enjoy more there. The Sci Fi you eat in your own car the place is decorated like a 1950s drive in movie theater. 50s prime time is like eating in a 1950s kitchen and the waitor/waitress will interact with you.

enjoy your trip!

:thumbsup2 We love Ohana's! We're eating there twice on our next trip.

When HS opened, I was around 14 and my brother was 10. Our parents took us to SCI FI and 50's Prime Time, and we LOVED it. They are such unique places, and we felt surrounded by the Disney magic. I no longer eat at these two places because it's just DH and myself and these places are more fun with kids; if we had kids, we'd probably make ADRs there. If I were you, I'd replace Hollywood & Vine with one of these. Unless you're going to do the Disney Playhouse lunch, H&V is nothing special at all--with mediocre food at best.

We love the following places as well:
Tony's Town Square--love Lady & the Tramp theme and the steak was good.
San Angel Inn--best atmosphere!
Liberty Tree Tavern--served family style, like Thanksgiving dinner
We've always enjoyed the food at LeCellier, Nine Dragons, and Kona Cafe

Might I suggest a trip over to the Animal Kingdom Lodge one night for Sanaa? The food was wonderful and the view of the animals is outstanding! (You have huge windows looking at the savannah.)

In Epcot maybe Biergarten? Dd loved the music and going out to dance. The mac-n-cheese on the buffet might have contributed to her making this her 2nd fav.

Here are the menus: http://allears.net/din/dining.htm

You should consider dining in some resorts because you don't need park hoppers for that.

Definitely second the recommendations for 'Ohana, both breakfast and dinner. We also liked Whispering Canyon Cafe over at the Wilderness Lodge.
