I have read a lot of the other posts...but need help.

I am having some issues with Plantar Facitis (heel pain).....and I usually wear Nike air's to WDW. now I expect my foot to be better by our trip but...

I am actually considering the Disney crocs and the Capri flip flop style.
now I think Crocs are the ugliest shoe ever...but they are growing on me.
I want the pink Disney ones.

here are my questions...
I have a narrow foot and wear a 8.5-9. I am thinking I should order the mediums. will it feel weird to have such a wide shoe on ??? will they rub anywhere?? I like the idea that my feet won't sweat...will they???

has anyone tried the flip flop styles? are they comfy?? I am looking at the Capris.

lastly...how did you get past wearing snowshoe sized ugly shoes....will I just feel ridiculous?? I am pooh shaped and self conscious any way. but the pink Disney ones should fit right in at WDW....right? we are trying to be comfy...not that stylish...right??

thanks all.....

Another Plantar Faciitis sufferer, 8.5 foot, A width here. Also think they're butt ugly, but now that my feet feel better with them than the orthotics I was fitted for a week before I bought my first pair.

I now own 6 pairs and have a doctor's note for wearing them for work. I used to love my flip flops and now can't wear wear any of them. I'm curious to see how the flip flops will do on my narrow feet. So, let me know how you like them, lol! :rotfl:

It takes some getting used to, having shoes that don't touch the sides or front of your feet. Once you do, you'll love it. The Caymans are a tad narrower than the Beach, so you may want to go that route. The weird thing is that due to a worsening of my vascular issues, one foot is currently a D and the other is still an A. Even if I wanted to wear other shoes, I couldn't because of this!

Can either of you explain the heel pain you have? Over the past few months, my heels have just gotten so so painful. If we are laying in bed watching TV and I try to get up, I about fall over because it hurts so bad. Even sitting at work sometimes and when I walk into the other room, it is horrible. I wear the LL Bean Comfort Mocs a lot of times and by the end of the day my heels hurt something awful.

Thanks for any info.:guilty:

It sounds like Poohnatic has it really bad...my situation is a little different. She may be able to shed a little light for both of us. :)

My heel started to get sore one night a couple weeks ago and when I got up in the morning and stepped on it...:scared1: it felt like a hot knife stabbing me in the front inner side of my heel. I couldn't walk and my calf was cramping too. I had to limp and not put any weight on my heel. I couldn't stand to have ANYTHING touch it. so walking on the ball of my foot/tippy toes makes my calf cramp terrible. the I walk funny and it throws my back out of whack.
I went and read online and have almost ALL the symptoms for Plantar Faciitis (a strain of the tissue that connects your toes to your heel on the bottom of your foot). So I read all the symptoms and the fact that the Dr can't really do anything for it. Soooo...I think that is what I have.
I read that stretches really help and I have been having my DH help me with that every night and morning. Its been 2 weeks today and I am improving.
I still get the shooting pains once in a while and I can't wear tennis shoes or flats. I have 2 pairs of soft flip flops that have worked great.
I absolutely can NOT imagine living with this pain/feeling for a long period of time. It is terrible and the weirdest place to have pain.
I figured if it didn't go away soon, then I will go to the Dr and get a real diagnosis. but so far I am improving.
I am concerned about WDW but its not until May. so heres hoping.
My limp has been so bad I can not imagine getting around WDW...:sad1:
My DH said he will wheel me around in a wheelchair...we are going. ;) ;)

You should take a look at the Nile style. I have PF as well and just didn't like the looks of the crocs. The Niles are a nicer looking sandal that aren't very wide. I don't like flip flops, so those were totally out of the question for me.

A year ago, my PF was terrible. Now, after wearing crocs for a year, it is barely noticable.
