Need gift ideas for soccer coach

I am the team mother for my boys' soccer team. THey are fortunate to hve a wonderful coach. It is an "in-house" program. He has taught them some amazing skills and they have had fun with him. As a bonus - there team is undefeated with only 1 game & the tournament left.
Anyway I am looking for suggestions for a gift from the team. Any suggestions?

What we have done in the past for group gifts is to have everyone chip in and buy gift certificates to a favorite store, a fancy restaurant or a day spa. These are always well received by teachers, coaches, band directors, etc. whenever we have done it.

As a coach for many years... these are some of my favorite gifts - depending on your budget you could do one or several.

8 by 10 picture of the team

Book/journal/photo album/scrapbook with a page from each team member - the kids can write on it or glue pictures, etc. I think this is the most meaningful gift I have ever gotten. Each player can write/do as much or as little as they want. The artist can draw a beautiful picture, the quiet kid might write a novel.

Gift certificate to local restaurant

Autographed ball

Scrapbook of this specific season - clippings, stats, photos, etc.

Sporting goods store gift certificate

Grocery gift certificate

I am sure whatever you decide to give will be greatly appreciated!

A gift certificate from a local mall or shopping area. That way he has a lot of latitude on what he can do....maybe use it for dinner with his famly, or a new pair of cleats for himself, or a book he had been wanting to read.

I love the above idea of the scrapbook!

We gave a stadium cushion one year with all the children writing a personal note or autograph in permanant marker. You could do the same thing with a new soccer ball.

Here are two ideas -
our school had a soccer team and a basketball team that had done well.

The team moms bought a small soccer blanket and a basketball blanket. ( Something they could hang on the wall or toss on the back of a chair.)

They had each team member sign it with their name and number and if they wanted to write a small message to the coach, they could.

Second idea:
One year my son was on a championship club house basketball team. They signed the game ball and gave it to the coach.

I cannot thank you enough for this thread. We're starting out with a new team and a new coach who has some wonderful ideas. It's great to get the scrapbook idea at the beginning of the season because now I can start taking pictures throughout the season discreetly and give each player his own page to work on independently. Every child is different and I'd like it to be personal so even if each player simply completed the sentence

that would be perfect. Other than that they can add to it in whatever way they wish and then I'll put them all together.

A parent of one of my daughter's teammates bought the coaches a clipboard that had a team picture and all of the girls' names on one side and a soccer field white board on the other side. It was a nice memento as well as being useful.
As someone who has coached in the past, one thing that I loved getting was scrimmage vests. They can be purchased at any sporting goods store and they really make practices easier!

MY DD's Couch is getting a sweatshirt with the Coach John and the team name stitched on it. In years past the coach as gotten gift certificates, a chair, signed ball etc.

We are getting a t-shirt that matched the team's color, putting "soccer coach" on the pocket and going to have each girl sign the shirt.
