Need for Card Holders

If we are only able to spend one day at WDW, would it be necessary to get plastic "ticket holders?" We haven't been in many years so have no experience with the new system.

I've been thinking of getting a card holder because of fastpass - but really - I've never used one before and haven't had any problems. Even with fastpass up til now, I've just kept my pass in a certain pocket of my backpack and take it out when needed.

I use a card holder simply because it is easier for me to reach. My backpack is attached to the back of my wheelchair and a difficult twist to reach. My purse sack is hooked below my armrest so it is just easier to keep my pass, room key and id in a card holder with a few dollars for snacks.
