We have done both, but now I am debating which to do for our upcoming trip. It will be my daughter's third birthday the day we go and I remember the Minnie breakfast actually singing HB to the kids (it was my son's when we went), but don't recall Surf's Up doing anything birthday oriented. My real issue is this:

The park opens at 10 a.m. on that day. We can do Surf's Up at 8, or Minnie at 9:10 (their first seating of the day). It's Magic Morning. I can't decide if it is better to do the Surf's Up one and be in the park around 9:30 or so, or be IN the park already and do Minnie and miss Magic Morning.

Any suggestions are welcomed!

In my opinion, the Minnie and friends breakfast was great for character interaction. If I only had on MM I wouldn't do that breakfast again if it was when the MM was on.
