I just found out this morning that we might be taking an unexpected trip to Disney this June with my husband's family. There would be 11 of us total -

2 seniors (grandparents), his brother's family (brother, wife, 2 teenagers and nine year old - so 4 adults and one child) and my family (me, husband and 2 children).

We are desperately searching for the best deals. We are looking at a deluxe or moderate resort. Is the room only discount better or should be thinking about doing the kids eat free deal - there would only technically be 3 children.

We would stay 7 days, 6 nights with 6 day park hopper, no water park and regular dining plan.

Also, is it better to get seperate rooms - we would need 3 ( 4, 4 and 3 in different rooms) or should we do a villa that accomadates 12? I have a feeling the villa would be outrageous.

Looking at the Contemporary, AKL, POR or CBR.

Any thoughts would be a HUGE help!! thanks!

What are the dates? Would you consider OKW? I think you might end up better with the room discount. The savings on the kids food will be very minimal, and I believe (because I had priced my own child - 6yo) the 7day park hopper is around $252. 40% savings on a deluxe would exclude the savings for the 3 kids, because I believe june isn't value season.

If there are only 3 kids of the group of 11, you might be better off with the best room discount you can find.

For the rooms, putting aside cost, would you be happier in 3 separate rooms than together? Costwise, of the options you listed, the least expensive would be the three rooms at a moderate with a good discount. Cash rates for villas can be high though there have been discounts lately.

Would you have cars there? If you are flying down, staying at the CR without a car is very easy. If you would have rented a car for POR/CBR you make up some of the difference in room cost in not needing a car at CR.

I planned a grand gathering for 15 of us last year...The resort choice is personal but I can say I picked POR and it was awesome. Good luck You'll have a blast!

Btw...consider a water park..all 15 of us went and agree it was our best day of the trip!

Rack Rate for a grand villa for that time frame is about $1,400.00 per night, $8,400.00 for six nights. You can stay in 3 rooms at Port Orleans for about $560.00 per night, $3,360.00 for 6 nights. So you would save close to $5,000.00 by getting three rooms at Port Orleans.
