Right before the Super Bowl I bought my son a Patriots Tshirt off ebay. I paid within minutes.Shirt arrived before game. It was a poor quality iron on. the fact that it was an iron on was not stated in the description. I contacted the seller and was told it was a bad lot of shirts and her last email said I could contact her but they did not take returns. Okay I had already left neutral feedback Didn't want to hurt her feedback rating if I wasen't her fault. I was being a nice girl. Now two months later she posted negative feedback on me. I had 100% rating and she blew it for me. I just don't understand why. I didn't hurt hers and did not continue to contact her to complain just chalked it up to a bad experience.
I feel that my rating should not be effected since I didn't hurt her. There were several that did leave her negaives But I didn't.
How can I repair my rating to 100%. The shirt was only 13.00
:confused3

If people actually went looking to see why you got the neg, I would say forget it, it's obviously retailiatory. But the eBay feedback system is so flawed, that people who sell junk, can get away with it.

You could ask if she would consider having yours removed in return for hers being returned. You would go through the mutual feedback removal http://pages.ebay.com/help/feedback/questions/mutual-withdrawal.html

If you have very few feedbacks and are willing to start over, you can go that route. That's what most of the low feedback people that get negs do..they just move on.

Stinks, doesn't it!

I had a similar thing happen to me. I had a non-paying bidder who gave me excuse after excuse as to why he wasn't sending me payment. I finally gave up and gave him a deadline (seven weeks after the end of the sale, stupid me!), and he still didn't pay so I left him a negative. He turned around and gave ME one, my only negative in 5+ years, claiming I wouldn't give him my address so he could send me payment! The feedback system is really unfair in that regard. I have seen sellers actually say in the body of their ad that they will leave negative feedback if the buyer does. It really kind of defeats the system.

I think you can go into fair trade and ask about it since it was totally uncalled for and not true. Maybe go to live help and then they can point you where to go!!

If you don't want to deal with the seller by asking her to mutally agree to remove the FB you can do this:

You can respond to the feedback the seller let you by explaining what the real story is.

You can also add to the feedback you left for her and then people that look at her FB will see how vindictive she is.

That first negative is a killer. I still remember when I got my first one and it was a while ago. It really hurt and I was so upset for days. I can tell you by experience that other people will see that it was retalitory and not think a thing about it.

Sorry this happened to you.

Most people feel their feedback is unfair (and a lot of it is). However, that is not a reason why they will remove it. They list the reasons, and not being true isn't a reason :(

Oh no..I wish they would LOL. They just reregister with a new user ID and credit card.

I truly wouldn't worry about it. You will find this happens from time to time. I can tell you if I only see 1 negative (and you aren't new) then I'm going to buy from you still or sell to you. Unfortunately negatives happen.

I leave my feedback as I see them. I don't wait for feedback to leave mine. I only buy once in a blue moon, mostly sell. If I feel a negative is jusitified I'll leave it. I can tell you I've gotten several in retaliation from NPB-- I just don't think a NPB should even be allowed to leave feedback. Anyhow, it happens. It shouldn't hurt you.

Just a hint regarding negative feedback, as a buyer (more than a seller) I look for how the seller responds to the negative feedback. If the seller states that there was a mix up and that they feel the feedback was unfair, then I would definitely buy from them, but if the seller states the person leaving the negative feedback is a liar or a scumbag or gets nasty, then I stay away and NOT bid on their item. So, as a buyer, I would look at your one negative feedback, see how you reacted to it, click on their feedback and see what you wrote about them and make my decision from there, if there is no malice from you, then no problem!

It's hard I'll bet getting negative feedback from jerks like that, but you really shouldn't let it discourage you, your feedback is good and there's always the jerks trying to hurt people out there. Don't let it get you down!

BTW, KUDO's on that Patriots shirt choice ;-)

I got my first negative about two weeks ago (I do an ebay store) - the buyer never paid for the item, I left her neg fdbk and she left me some in return saying I was rude to her. Kind of funny when she never even spoke to me! Anyway...my response was that she never paid for item, but after that, I managed to squeeze in, 'fdbk system needs work, ebay!!'. Couldn't help it. I had to get that comment in! I think it is so unfair that someone who never even pays you can leave you fdbk - and that it can be totally false.

There was another thread on here where a poster suggested a 1-5 rating system. Maybe something like that would work better? The system now definitely has its flaws which is unfortunate.
