Need dining suggestion for the day we are at AK

Hi Everyone-

Can you please offer a suggestion on a good TS for when visiting AK. We have a Rainforrest Cafe near our home so that is out, and none of the other resturants in AK appeal to us.

Is there a resort nearby with a TS rest. that you would recommend?

We have ressies at Yak and Yeti. Never ate there before but friend said it was one of their favorites.

My mom and I really enjoyed Yak and Yeti, one of our favorite meals of the trip. However, you could always leave the park and go downtown where there are several restaurants.

We loved Tusker House but Yak and Yeti never again, not even for free. What a mess and rip off.

We really don't care for any of the TS at AK, so we hit Flame Tree for CS and then off elsewhere for a TS

I'd suggest the 3-5 minute bus ride to Animal Kingdom Lodge to eat at Boma. It is a nice treat to get out of the park for a few hours and the food is great. You could also explore the resort and see a lot of animals upclose before going back to AK.

Yak & Yeti, by the way, is a Landry restaurant. This is the same company that runs all of the Rainforest Cafes around the country. It's really a glorified Chinese food place.

I would look into taking the bus from AK over to AKLodge and dine at BOMA. You could then take a bus back to AK and transfer there to get back to your resort or take a bus from AKL to TTC or DD and transfer to get back to your resort.

**I'm assuming you'll be at AK all day, dine later afternoon-early evening and back to your resort for the evening.

I highly recommend Yak and Yeti. It was hands down our favorite meal on our trip last summer. The atmosphere is great, friendly CM's, and the food is delish! I don't agree that it's a glorified chinese restaurant. It's not just chinese food, they have other asian food such as Thai, Vietnamese, etc; but it is Americanized enough so that picky eaters won't be disappointed. They were also agreable to substitutions which was really nice.

Boma, so good. Totally worth the trip for dinner,and to check out AKL. If you are looking for lunch, I would say do Tusker House adr for the reserved seating package for Finding Nemo .

Park hours aren't that long for AK - seems to me that leaving for a resort table service meal would eat up a lot of time... I'd go with Yak & Yeti if it were me.

If you want to know what food they serve at these places look them up on www.allears.net that way you can make a better decision. We usually leave Animal Kingdom for TS Meals. I think they need to make the Rain Forest Cafe part of their DDP, or Add another TS Animal Kingdom really needs one.

We're planning on making a special trip to go to Yak 'n Yeti...we've heard great things about it.

I just wanted to say we loved Y & Y but tried Tusker House for the first time last Mother's Day. It was really good and had something for everyone.

We have taken the bus to AK but only for Mara.

Totally agree...TH was fabulous but Y&Y was horrible. AK is truly lacking in good TS locations.
