Need details - Florida's turnpike to Grand Floridian

Ok, so I had all the maps and driving directions on our last trip, up til taking the turnpike. Then I figured, there would be Disney signs...not one on that road! So, we ended up missing the 'shortcut' exit, had to go to Orlando, then take I-4. Anyway, I want to avoid that for our next trip, so can anyone give me details, starting at Florida's turnpike, which exit to take, and roads to take to get to the Grand Floridian? Thanks!

Take 417 South Exit from MCO. Follow that till exit 3, pay toll at exit .50 and then turn right. Continue through stoplight past Gaylord Palms on your left until you go through WDW welcome sign. Follow signs for Magic Kingdom. When you get to the Magic Kingdom stay to your right, go through toll booth and turn left at the first light. Go past Poly and follow through to GF

Where are you driving from? North, South, MCO?? What Interstate?? Something??

Sorry, we'll be driving from IL....coming down I-75 from the North...taking I-75 to Floridas turnpike.

You want to get off the turnpike at Route 27 South. It might be marked Clermont but it won't say WDW.

You take #27 South for maybe half an hour to #192. Go East on 192 until you reach signs for WDW(MK). As I recall it is a ramp with a cloverleaf these days so you will enter from the right but end up going North on World Drive.

Go North on World Drive until you go through the MK parking booths. Be toward the right here (the lane furthest to the right is for buses only). Instead of taking the swoop to the left with cars parking at MK, you need to follow a blue line straight forward. Ask the attendant at the parking booth so they can show you. Go to the first light and take a left. You will go by the TTC and the Polynesian. Right after the Polynesian, take a right and the GF will be on your right after a little bit.

Minnie, there is also a new road going in that will be better than #27 once it opens. It is called 429 but it sounds as if only part of it is open right now.

There is a thread about it that just slipped to page two entitled "New road to Disney." So you might want to check if it is open by the time of your trip.

Thanks for the directions! I'll keep checking back on the new road...we're not going til Nov, so maybe it'll be open.
