Please help with my dilemma. I am going to FL in Oct with DH and DD. We have some Jetblue credit, and were going to pay the difference and use this, 'cause it's our favorite airline. They allow 3 checked bags, 1 carryon, and 1 personal item/per ticketed passenger. Since I am going to visit my boss in Boca before WDW, he offered to pick up the cost of the flight with the co Amex miles. Unfortunately, I would have to use Delta, and they only allow 2 checked bags, 1 carryon & 1 personal item/passenger. DD would not have a purchased ticket at 13 months. With Jetblue, the stroller counts as a checked item, as does the carseat. With Delta (please tell me if this is correct) the stroller does not count as baggage, but the carseat is a carryon, regardless if you gate check or use it. I could keep my Jetblue credit for our next trip (I hope). The problem is I would be more limited with luggage on Delta, and I love Jetblue (who is usually on time with flights). Please help me to feel more confident using the (free!) Delta option. Thanks for the advice!

Last time we took Delta with a stroller, it was just tagged at the gate, and stowed under the plane where the luggage goes - doesn't count as a carry on or checked piece. You just stroll it up to the entrance of the plane with your child in it, a person will wait for you to take them out, tag it, take it out the door to the luggage hold while you go ahead an board the plane. When you complete your flight you just wait outside the cockpit door (and they have already started loading on the strollers again) to you see yours, then you are on your way. It was always very smooth and never a bother. Me personally? I would take the free tickets and just pack a little lighter. Oh yeah - the carseat we checked as luggage.

Free tickets???? Don't even give this issue another thought; take those freebies and pack! That means you still have Jet Blue on back-up for your next trip. And, there's bound to be a laundromat nearby.

I feel your pain! I too am a fan of JetBlue and pretty much refuse to fly any other airline now.

However - I could certainly be persuaded with free tickets :)

I say go for the free tickets on Delta and perhaps buy your 13 month old a seat on your own (that way you'd also be able to check more bags) .

Save the JetBlue credits as an excuse to take another trip - but remember...JetBlue credits expire 1 year from their issue date so book your next flight before that happens:)

Have a great trip :)

We have never had a problem with Delta when gate checking a stroller and a car seat. They don't count them as checked baggage, and they have never limited our carryons either. We always carry on to the plane a carry on item and personal item each.

I'm a little miffed with JetBlue right now. They scrapped the return flight we had booked for May and put us on a flight 3 hours earlier :(. I booked them because they had a good fare at the time. If they had notified me sooner I could have booked Delta a week or so ago with better flight times, for $40 per ticket less. Oh well, since they changed it on me I have the option to get a refund, which I will do if I find a lower fare or better times. Just had to vent.......................(I feel better now ;)).

I'd take Delta for your trip and save your free JB ticket. Delta has great service and is very reliable (ie - I have never had a flight scrapped like JB did ;)).
