We are a family of 4 (DH, me, DD11 and DD9) planning our first trip to DL for Dec 10th-14th. We are staying at the Candy Cane Inn.

We are experianced WDW AP holders. We have been trying to get to DL for many years but we always seem to go back to WDW. My DH is getting orders for a new assignment soon and it looks like Germany is coming so we decided to go to DL no matter what this Christmas! I really want the girls to experiance DL the first time as kids! We are all excited about the trip and the move! DDs are looking forward to being able to visit DL Paris after the move! They are also trying to talk their father into trips to Hong Kong and Tokyo while we are overseas! They say it is only just reward for living life as Army Brats!!!

Anyways, I was wondering if any of you seasoned DL vets could offer some advice on not to miss things to do in Dec at DL? Any special Christmas activities, events that we need to plan for? Character meals, weather, crowd levels? I am looking for it all. I am just starting to research this trip and I seem to be having a really hard time with it for some reason! Any great web sites, books , etc?

Any and all info is needed!

TIA!

The holidays are such a wonderful time to be there. One of our most magical trips was in early December. We are talking about a short trip back this year, but I dont know if it will be in the budget or not (we were just there a month ago).

The Christmas parade and fireworks are both great- dont miss them! The last couple of years, at Big thunder ranch, they have had Santa and his reindeer, cookie decorating and some other little activities. I would be sure to stop by and check it out. Its a small world will have the holiday overlay, as will haunted mansion- be sure to check out both of them! And, of course, the new Nemo ride will be up and running- not holiday, but dont miss it.

Other things to be sure to do: Soarin' over the CA, the Aladdin stage show in DCA, Billy Hill and Hillbillies at the golden horseshoe, the 50th movie with Steve Martin on main street, Fantasmic!. Then of course some of the rides like Indy and jungle cruise. I also recomend checking out the gallery about pirates of the carib.. To see some original art work by Walt, be sure to stop by first aid.

I'm sure others will have more to add to this!
