Need critique of Fulton's

Next month we will spend both of the pass "plus" features in one day. TL followed by PI. We are two adult couples. DH and I have eaten twice before at Portobello Yacht Club. Our first experience was excellent, delicious food, perfect service. The next trip the food and service was ho hum, plus we were seated next to a family with a bunch of loud kids. We'd like to try Fulton's instead on this trip. I have only eaten there once on a previous trip with the kids for the character breakfast when it was Empress Lily. I've read some dinner reviews that were not favorable, but would like some DIS opinions before I make a decision on where to make our PS.

We really like Fulton's Crab House. We usually get the crab claw platter for 2 or the Crab and Lobster entree. We don't like all of those sauces, and extras on seafood... we just like it steamed with drawn butter, so this is wonderful for us. We have had good service both times we have been, have never felt rushed, the food was always wonderful. If at all possible, request to sit on the 2nd deck... the view is much better up there!

Food--good (tho menu is nowhere near as extensive as it was when they opened). Beer list is pretty limited also.
Location-nice. The Riverboat is a wonderful setting.
Service-Horrible!! Worst of any restaurant at WDW.

We DM, DB and I went in Oct 2000 and it was the best place we ate the whole trip. My mom and I had the Crab and Lobster Experience for two and my brother (who doesn't like seafood) got a steak. Everything was great. We're from Kansas, so we don't get quality seafood very much, and this was.

Our waiter was fun and attentive. It was nice to go into a place in a tshirt and shorts, but have it be an upscale place.

We are going back to Disney in February and this is the only "must-go" dinner place on our list!

My sister and her deadbeat, I mean boyfriend went there and really enjoyed it. My sister couldn't say enough, but I think she was just in shock because it was the only time the boyfriend payed for anything.

As for Fultons-we went for Mother's Day 1998 and Blech! We've never been back. Awful service, bad chowder and our food was cold. we sent it back twice! JMHO!

We've been there 5 times. Four times we had excellent service and the food was very good. The one other time it was good food and ok service. My DS (22) loves the place. We took him there for his birthday once and then the next birthday we took him to Palio. We will be there for his birthday again this year and he requested we celebrate at Fulton's.

I ate at Fulton's last month - we had a wonderful dinner! Service was excellent, and so was the food! I had the Lobster & Filet Mignon, awesome! Also had a piece of chocolate cake - it was great!

Fulton's is one of my "top picks" for a splurge at WDW.
