We just booked our first cruise :Pinkbounc and need help requesting a cabin. I was thinking of Deck 5 since I think our kids will spend a lot of time in the clubs. Is it loud over the Walt Disney Theatre? Do you think seasickness is any more of a possibility forward or aft? I'd prefer something quiet as I'm a light sleeper although I realize there can be noise anywhere. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

We love Deck 5. It is a great location on the ship. We usually stay in the aft section so we have no experience above the WD theater. The traffic from the kids clubs is minimal in regards to the staterooms and since there are fewer rooms on that deck the hall traffic is much less.

We will be on Deck 5 tomorrow afternoon!

Thanks wingawh. Have a great trip!! :boat:
Anyone else have an opinion?

I'll let you know. We have rooms 5009 & 5010 . One is a cat. 11 and one is a cat. 8 across the hall. Even if it is loud over the Walt Disney theatre the latest show is at 8:30 so you probably won't be sleeping yet anyway! As far as seasickness, I think being on deck 5 puts you central in the ship which reduces the seasickness.

we were at 5501, RIGHT ABOVE the theatre (i kid you not). it was VERY loud when the performers were rehearsing. there were a few times when the shows started at 2:00 pm (to alleviate the night crowd) and we could hear the whole show from our cabin...all this trying to get our kids to take an afternoon nap. this cabin was a cat. 11 room.

How about deck 6? We had cabins 6049 and 6047 and LOVED :cool1: the location. It was right in the middle, a hop down to the kids club, a quick run up to the pools, we hardly ever used the elevators!! We are going again in 2006 and want the same cabins.

Not noisy at all!

Good luck.

Hi,
We had 5009 on Dec. 18th Magic and it was a great room. It felt bigger than a regular cat. 11 as it was a verticle situated (when looking on the deck map layout) room instead of horizontal as most rooms. The entrance to the room is in the middle of the room also. We liked the closeness to the kids club and the fact that it was close to the atrium lobby where all the characters appear. We did not hear noise from the theater as we were not in our room at all during the shows. It had a more intimate feel as it was not an entire floor of cabins as you find on deck 6 & 7.
Good Luck! :flower1:

Thanks for the replies. We'll be in 5513. Kellimomo3 - I'll be interested to hear what you think about these rooms. Missmulan - I can see how the noise would have been hard at nap time. We've been at WDW resorts at nap time and housekeeping is pretty loud at that time(not their fault of course). Luckily our kids are, for the most part, done taking naps. Eileen - I've heard some people say these vertical rooms are bigger but my TA says no. Maybe they just feel bigger like you said. I liked the location at the end of the hall - just seemed less noisy to me. Anyway, thanks again!

As for sea sickness, you definitely feel it more forward than aft. We have been in the secret porthole rooms and 5650 (far aft) many times, so I know from experience. But it's all relative...the motion is still slight, even forward, unless the seas are very rough or you are very sensitive. It is worse on the higher decks...picture a reverse pendulum and you'll understand why.
