so 2 people flying Buf to MCO mid March at March break (very busy) on a Sunday March 13
cost for SW is marginally more ($60 total for 2)
SW- leaves 1 hr later, gets in at same time, no plane change but 1 stop in BWI
Jetblue- bigger seats I hear (Iam 200 llbs so worried re SW)
TV
cost is a little less
but have to change planes in JFK

so I am leaning towards SW due to no plane change
any opinions or advice

Yeah, I'd take the no-plane-change thing. Also it's easy to change SW if you spot an even better flight between now and then. (I saw a better flight for the same money for our trip in Feb this Tuesday morning but by the time I'd consulted dh, it was gone. Tuesday mornings seem to have a little blip of better prices on a range of flights.) Been a while for me, though, I don't know if SW has the cabin amenities JB does.

Where is BWI?

My biggest issue with stopovers is weather in March. We flew a stopover one March and had to land in Chcogo and almost could leave!! Better to stopover further south IMHO.

As for airlnes, JetBlue is an awesome flight! Probsbly one of the best I've been on with TVs and they hand out snacks in a big basket with a "help yourself" attitude. ALso was able to be preseated on JetBlue (for a small fee).

Changing planes isn't so bad if you have a buffer of time. Employees are always around to direct you to your gate. YOu leave an hour later on SW - how much time in between flights. For winter months I try to leave a 2 hour buffer as flights are almost always 30-60 min late for deicing etc.

I've flown on both airlines, and I prefer JetBlue.

JetBlue has preassigned seats, and extra legroom (and live TV at every seat).

SouthWest has a great cancellation policy (fully credit for any cancelled flights), but you have to endure the seating "cattle call", and reduced leg room.

I know you are concerned about seat size -- for that issue alone I woudl fly JetBlue.

I'd pay a premium to fly JetBlue, but not a high premium.

WE FLY JET BLUE WHENEVER WE CAN. LOTS OF LEGROOM, TVs , IF YOUR GOING IN MARCH YOU SHOULDNT HAVE WEATHER PROBLEMS AT JFK. WE HAVE FLOWN INTO JFK WHEN WE DIDNT GET A DIRECT FLIGHT. JET BLUE HAS ITS OWN BRAND NEW TERMINAL. WE USUALLY TAKE THE DIRECT JETBLUE FLIGHT FROM BUFFALO TO ORLANDO.

BWI is Baltimore. I've done a stopover there (Airtran) .... Airport is fine.

To be perfectly honest, I always choose between SW and Jetblue for my flights to Orlando. I always choose them based on which one is less expensive, but if I had my choice, I would choose Jetblue every time. The reasons are;
1) You pre-choose your seats which means you dont have to arrive earlier and wait in line to ensure you get a seat you like
2) The seats are a bit larger and more comfortable
3) Each seat has TV's which makes the flight go by very quickly (even tho its a very short flight LOL).

In regards to the seat size and ensuring your are comfortable, my father is a larger man as well (I would guess around 240-260 lbs) and I have flow with him on southwest before. He didn't have much of an issue, but when we flew on Jetblue, he did comment on how much more comfortable he was. So I wouldn't be afraid that you will be uncomfrotable in SW seats, but if Jetblue is less expensive and your arriving at the same time, I would suggest taking the Jetblue, even with the stop.
