Need budget Idea for Brownie "Building Art" try-it activities

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Waiting to hear back from Lowe's about providing a building activity..

Anyone have any other ideas? There are 12 girls in the troop.

Our Lowes do the Saturday things for kids, building bird houses was one. That's your easiest option if available. I bought kits for bird houses and jewelry boxes one year after Christmas at 90%. Your leader book may have some good ideas too, that's where I got a lot of my ideas.

Not the leader, so I don't have the book - each parent is responsible for doing badge one activity with the troop. I already emailed her as well to see what are some of the suggested activities for the badge

There's nothing in that badge specifically requiring a woodworking project. It's more architecture-focused than woodworking.

That said, if you want to do a wood working project, the Lowes or Home Depot kids workshops are the way to go. Materials all provided, and FREE! DD and I were talking about going as a troop next month. (I also "did" my son's birthday part there one year. They don't officially do them, we just showed up with 8 boys {and 4 adults} and did the project. Followed up by an ice cream cake at a local restaurant.)

If it does not have to be specifically built in wood then a fun project might be to make gingerbread houses. You can make them with gingerbread OR with graham crackers. And then decorate them for fun!

I took several large pieces of cardboard and drew roads on it. I gave them lots of different size boxes, colored construction paper and markers, and told them to build a city. The girls each decided who was goint to make a post office, police station, grocery store, etc. and when they were finished they placed their buildings along the streets and then drew parking lots, trees, etc. That was one of their favorite projects.

I hope I am thinking of the right badge, it was several years ago!! LOL!
