We're taking our son to Disney Sept. 9-15. His birthday is Sept. 16th but obviously we won't be there then; so we're celebrating it early. We're arriving on the 9th at around check in time at the Poly. I've planned on having a surprise in the room for him when we get there and then I'm making ADR at CM for that night around 6:30 and ordering a cake from there. I planned this for our first night to sort of kick things off for the week. Should I celebrate it the first night at CM or would you choose another night and another restraunt? Will they bring the cake out with th4e characters and sing to him or do I have to request this? Below is my plan for the week. What restraunts have the best cakes, characters etc. for birthday celebrations? Also, I know on the Disney web-site it says you can contact the florist there and they will deliver stuff to the room. However, I'm not too impressed with what they show. Are there other things available? Can you call a store in the park and pick out stuff? Thanks so much for your help! April

Wed. Sept. 9th Check in Poly 3pm, CM 6:30 w/ B-day cake
Thur. Sept. 10th Magic Kindgom, Dinner at Mickey's BBQ 6:30
Fri. Sept. 11th Hollywood Studios, Dinner Crystal Palace, MNSSHP
Sat. Sept. 12th Blizzard Beach, Dinner Aloha Dinner show at Poly
Sun. Sept. 13th Donald's Safari Breakfast, Animal Kingdom, Dinner Le Cellier
Mon. Sept. 14th CRT Breakfast, Magic Kingdom, Dinner ???

I can't speak from experience, but we have the exact same plans for our son's 4th birthday in August. I am hoping to get the first ADR at Chef Mickey's on our arrival night because I hear you can be the family that helps open the doors and will be escorted to your table by the characters. I'll probably just get a small Mickey cake. I don't want to have a lot of left over cake!

I'm also looking at ordering a gift basket from Memories by Betsy. Nothing huge, but the basics - autograph book, Epcot passport, mouse ears, maybe a few toys.

Oh that sounds wonderful!! We were also planning in getting the small Mickey cake! LOL! I don't want to have a ton of cake left over either! Thanks for the heads up about the doors! That sounds pretty cool!! Thanks! April
