Has anyone ever shopped with overstock.com? Do you find their product advertising to be accurate/truthful? I am contemplating purchasing a leather chair from them today...they are offering free shipping that will end today.

Several of the chairs were advertised as being a bi-cast leather product (which I'm glad that they disclosed). The one that I have my eye on is advertised as being 100% Top-Grain leather. I guess I'm skeptical b/c it is affordable and most 100% leather chairs have been out of our price range.

For those who have shopped with overstock.com, would you trust this claim of quality to be true?

Please advise if you can. :)

I've ordered from Overstock dozens of times and have always been happy. The descriptions have always been spot on, but the best way to truly judge the product is to read the reviews from people who have purchased it.

Be sure to go through an affiliate company if you do purchase. I usually go through Mypoints because it's 10 points per dollar on Overstock. That adds up quick!

I have ordered from Overstock many times (just not dozens!) and I have also been happy every time. I agree with reading the product reviews. Everything I have purchased has had reviews from people who have bought the product already; I have only bought things with good reviews from many people.

Thanks for the quick reply. The chair only had 2 reviews, but both were postive.

What is Mypoints? I've never heard of it, but it sounds like a great idea!

I have ordered furniture from them before and the description was accurate. It wasn't high end furniture, just a cabinet for board games in my family room, I've had it for years and its held up very well. My friends also ordered their bed and dining set from them and were very happy with itheir purchases.
I would also check out bing.com (Microsoft search) they have a cashback program where you can recieve a rebate for your purchases and Overstock participates. Right now you can get 12% back from them, but you do need to sign up for a bing cashback acct (its free).

I agree about bing.com. I've used it lots of times (including for high dollar items where I got the maximum $200 rebate) and never had a problem. Sometimes drugstore.com is slow about crediting me, but I just email bing, and they handle it promptly.

Some additional info:

As the previous poster said, go to bing.com and sign up for a free account (you don't have to have a Paypal account, but I do, and that's what I use).

Then do a search on bing.com for camera lens (the search terms change regularly so it can be a bit of a game to find out what will get you where you want to go). Overstock.com is coming up right now with the green dollar cashback sign. Click on the link, and it will tell you that the current cashback is 12%. Just follow that on through. (You do have to wait 60 days to get your money back, but I think there's a provision for getting it faster if you have Paypal - not sure though.)

One nice thing is that your cashback comes from your subtotal before you use any coupons (so you get it off the full amount (very nice!). Be sure to google overstock.com code to see what you can find. (ETA: I've seen some posts online that say you can't do both, so I may be wrong about this. I do know that this is the way it works when I buy Frontline from drugstore.com, and I've gotten some excellent deals that way.)

One more thing: I neglected to add that my daughter's engagement ring came from overstock.com. They had been looking at rings but hadn't been able to find just what she wanted. She found the perfect ring there. When her fiance got it, they had it appraised (just to be sure ;)). It appraised at almost half again what he paid for it. :)

Sorry...one more question. Can you use Mypoints and Bing together for the same purchase and get points for both?

Pretty sure they have a restocking fee if you return something. I returned something and didn't get the full refund, just a head's up.

You can also get a rebate on your u-promise account if you go through their website to overstock.com-- a % toward college savings..

No, since each requires you to shop through their links in order to use their program. You would have to see which one works out to be a better deal for you.

Also, it says in bing's terms that using a discount code (not a free ship code) will void any cashback rebate. There are those who have been able to do it, but you will be taking a chance if you do. They do not send you your rebate for 60 days, so they have that whole time to deny your rebate.

Yep, I noticed that they have a horrible return policy. It makes me really nervous to buy something that I haven't examined in person, but it really is a good deal. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to make the purchase, I just pray that the chair is what they claim it is!

I think that I'm going to sign-up for the MyPoints before taking the plunge. Thanks everyone for all of the info. on the rewards programs. I love the Budget Board! :worship:
