I can't decide if i would be better off buying a tote bag or fanny pack.i am bringing rain ponchos, the ones that they sell in walmart sporting good section that are in small packages, so i need room for those, plus park tickets,wallet,keys.etc.I will have a child in a stroller to push around too so I don't know which to buy. What works best for all of you?thanks

If your pushing a child in a stroller I would buy some sort of bag for the stroller for kid items and stash my ponchos in that. Then I would get a fanny pack for the important personal items. I don't like to have alot of stuff on my person. Just camera and passes etc.

In my stroler days, I had a backpack and a fanny back. The back pack was for the "if necessary" things, like snacks, ponchos, kids toys, extra extra films, etc. The fanny back was for passes, money, camera, one extra film. The back pack then stayed in the stroller bin, for the most part. Nothing valuable, in case it got lost.

No tote bag.....go with a back pack or fanny pack or BOTH!
I usually carry a fanny pack with park passes/room card, money, hand sanitizer and comb. The kids each have a fanny pack and they have snacks in theirs. We also put a backpack on our stroller handle. Backpack contained movie camera, ponchos, light-up toys for at night (we don't usually return to our room so we pack for the entire day), and 2 bottles of water. We have a small Elf camera that goes on my DH belt. This is the first year we are going strollerless!!!Yippee!! Haven't decided yet on leaving the backpack behind or having DH carry it:tongue:

This was our first year strollerless too! My gosh, I hope I didn't drive like all of those other stroller people. :p (J/K) I must say, revenge was exacted, my foot was run over by a double stroller pushing dad in AK. :earseek:

This year we all wore fanny packs (even my 6 & 8 YO) and the DH and I took turns carrying the lone backpack. I kept all passes and money in my fanny pack while DH carried the camera in his. We put snacks in the boys' fanny packs along with their ID and disposable cameras.

We left the backpack in the locker with more snacks and the rain ponchos. It worked marvelously!

Thank you everyone for your ideas. I will definately go with the fanny pack instead of the tote. I also like the backpack idea or putting the ponchos etc in a stroller bag.
