I know he's sad but leave the cone on. I was a vet tech for 10 years, I can not count how many dogs we had to re suture after the dog had the cone off "for just a second". Even if he can't turn around he will be 100 percent ok. They can chew/lick through t-shirts very quickly if they want to, and I've see many many dogs get around the inflatable collars. Most the time they can turn around, it just takes them a bit to figure it out. Give him his pain meds, give him some love and realize this is harder on you than him. Also 6 months is a great time to get him neutered, it cuts certain cancer stats way way down by spaying/neutering before "puberty" hits.
Thank you!! He did fine, although he did wake up during the night once. And I found that he actually can turn around in the crate with the cone on! That made me feel better.
