I have a family member getting married at the end of Feb so were going to do a couple days at Disneyland..

Here is what I have so far- PLEASE HELP WITH ANY TIPS YOU MAY HAVE :)

Thurday- we arrive later in the days.. We have reservations at Goofy's that night and then we will swing by the Jazz Kitchen to pick up some goodies for later. Figured we would do a little DTD shopping there too. Then back to the room for a good night sleep.

Friday- The whole family is going.. like 20-30 people whole family. Since that can be so unpredictable I set no plan for today. (will I reget this)

Saturday- Wedding day so no Disneyland :(

Sunday- DISNEYLAND! Just me and DD. We will use our EE passes and get to the park super early and go crazy. We have reservations for breakfast at Ariels Grotto (DD is a die hard princess fan- her favorite place too) then back to more fun and reservations at the Blue Bayou for late lunch (my favorite).

Monday- we have a later flight leaving.. So to kill time we have reservations at Surf's up and maybe a little more DTD shopping.

PROBLEMS!!!

I think I want to surprise DD with the trip. Suggestions? Bad idea? Good idea?
When and how do I tell her?

Also last time we did BBB witch is pricy.. not sure where to fit it in either. She went last time on her 4th birthday so it was one of her main presents and LOVED it.. is she going to REALLY REALLY want to do it again? If so where should I put that? She is 5 1/2 if this helps.

Thanks all :)

I suprised my son last year. He was 4 1/2 at the time. We took him from basketball practice and said we were going to the zoo. We drove to the airport and he thought his brother and daddy were going to watch the planes take off while my DS and I went to the zoo. It wasn't until after I took him out of the car, took out a suit case and said "I know today was supposed to be a day just you and mommy, but I thought maybe instead of one day we could do 5 at Disneyland." He was stunned, first saying, "Do we have to?" I said well if you want to, then "When?" and I said now. Finally it hit him, he started jumping up and down and saying "Really? Really? We're going to Disneyland? Thank you mommy! Thank you!"

I think suprising them can be fun, but don't be suprised if it takes them a minute or 2 to realize that they are actually going. As far as BBB I would tell her that since she only has 1 day, there wouldn't be enough time, but you can bring a princess dress with you so she can wear it at the park. Enjoy your one on one time with her. That was my favorite trip by far, and I've been several times!

She does have princess dresses that fit, so I think that is a good idea to skip it. We can do our own BBB in our room before the park lol

She knows were flying to LA for the wedding.. but doesn't know anything else.. She is too young to really realize where LA is lol

Well... surprising her got ruined.. but I guess its ok since I wasn't decided on that anyways. But now she can help plan and she will love that :)

Everyone is different. Only you know how your daughter will react to the suprise, and whether you can pull it off.

I remember once I had a boyfriend who had kids...and I surprised them with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle show tickets (this was a while ago!). We had front row seats. The kids had no idea until we were walking up the stairs into the arena. Yes, they were excited. They had fun. But afterwards, I realized I missed the excitement of the build-up to the event. Half of the excitement for me is getting the kids excited weeks before, packing, talking about everything we want to do and see, etc. I knew from then on I'm not a big "surpriser"....

But that's just me :-)

Thats kinda where I was mentally. So since the surprise got leaked we spent the night planning and she is thrilled with all the reservations I've made. So it all turned out great :)
