We have been to Animal Kingdom (day trip from St Pete), but never to MK, EP, or HS. We are going in October and are not doing free dining because we are staying off site. So after hearing that some of the restuarants have been dumbed down because of free dining, are any of the ones I've picked ones you would not pay out of pocket for? I want completely honest opinions because I don't mind dining off property. Also has anyone eaten at Boston Lobster Feast? Is it worth the money?

50's Prime Time - Dinner

Donald's Safari Breakfast

Rose & Crown - Dinner

Biergarten - Lunch

Crystal Palace - Dinner

I also need to choose between Playhouse Disney lunch or Whispering Canyon

I have a late (9:05pm) dinner ADR at Chef Mickeys but I'm thinking that may be way too late for dinner.

The ones you have look good to me.

As for H&V or Whispering Canyon - Whispering Canyon would be better.

And I agree that Chef Mickey's is much too late. You will see Mickey at Donald's breakfast, so maybe I'd skip that one.

I am not a fan of the Prime Time but I know i am in the minority there. The rest are fine by me. I prefer San Angel Inn or Chefs de France to Rose&Crown but again, thats just me. Rose & Crown gets good reviews

I would go Whipsering Canyon

I would also bail on Chef Mickeys, try 'ohana or Kona Cafe at the Poly. Much better choices. Or even better yet, got to the Animal Kingdom Lodge for Boma

Donald's Breakfast Safari is a MUST DO for us every time! I have heard both good and bad about 50's prime time, but we are giving it a shot this year. As for the others, I can't say.

The menus are not "dumbed down for free dining" -- I don't know why people keep saying that. :confused3

Anyway, H&V lunch is not very good, I'd not choose that one. Otherwise your choices look fine. I agree about skipping Chef M's late dinner, especially since you already have Donald's breakfast. It will be less expensive, you'll see some of the same characters, and Donald's food is better than Chef M's, IMO.

50's Prime Time - Dinner loved it

Donald's Safari Breakfast worth every penny..our FAVORITE character meal on property

Rose & Crown - Dinner eh..not so much. Food was ok but we won't go back because of the kids menu.

Biergarten - Lunch loved it

Crystal Palace - Dinner liked it

I also need to choose between Playhouse Disney lunch or Whispering Canyon not sure...wouldn't do WC...never been to Playhouse for lunch...are you going for the characters (are there characters at lunch?) ..haven't heard fabulous things about the food

I wouldn't do Chef Mickeys that late...the food is ok..not wonderful and by that time our kids would be too tired to eat and enjoy the characters

HTH!:)

Thanks everyone! I'm definitely cancelling CM and H&V. I'm still debating on cancelling Rose & Crown dinner and doing Biergarten lunch.
