1. What's the best way to bring powdered formula into the parks? On a daily basis, I use a divided plastic container that I fill with one serving of powder in each section. My container has sections for 4 servings. The formula dd uses is not available in single serving pouches. Any ideas?

2. I'm thinking about using playtex drop-ins while touring the parks so I won't have to lug 8-9 bottles with me for the day. For you Moms who use the drop-ins, do you replace the nipple every time or just wash it out? And, how many of the actual bottles (that hold the liners) do you bring with you?

TIA! I want to start my packing list soon!

I used the powdered formula like you're talking about and used the drop in liners - don't forget them!!! The liners allow you to bring 2 bottles instead of 20. I would definitely bring two bottles and nipples in case one gets lost or nasty then you have a backup! Do what you have to so it will be easier for you. Remember the diapers and double the wipe count, just in case.

One trip I forgot the diapers - they are WICKED expensive at the Baby Care centers at the parks, so make sure you bring enough.

On that same trip I forgot the liners - we used an ice bucket liner every day - new one from the maid service - bless them. It was tough going. Let's just say I always pack the important things in two suitcases and I NEVER rely on DH to pack anything.

I did exactly what you want to do, and I always put my pre-measured formula in a baggy (I took as many baggies as I had feedings that day), I put water in the Platex bottle, and changed my nipples and liners with each feeding. For extra water, just take bottled water, or buy that in the parks (I normally took it, so it could be air temp, and not freezing cold).

I actually had a connection who gave us the sample sized cans of powder and 2 ounce premix bottles of my DS's formula, but I have heard of others also putting the amounts in baggies. We used drop ins from time to time, and at home I washed the nipples with each feeding, but if we were out and about I just rinsed it out.

My son likes his bottles warm. What I usually do is put the powdered formula in the Playtex bottle. While in the room I heat up 8 oz of water and put it in my Foogo by Thermos. I usually bring 2 of these for a long day out. When he is ready to eat I add the water to the powder that is already in the bottle and shake it up and he is happy with his nice warm bottle. :)

I would only take to the parks what I needed, which was usually one feeding since DD was 7 mo at the time and we napped in the afternoons. I labeled one ziploc "Clean" and one ziploc "Dirty." Each morning I put the nipples I needed for the time we would be out into the "clean" bag. Then, when it was time to eat again or I hit a bathroom or something, I'd rinse it and put it in the "dirty" bag. Then, at night, I'd do dishes. I took along some dishsoap from home.

I was able to use premixed, but before that, I used the divided container. And when we traveled when DD was 3 months, I had a water bottle that had measurements on it. So I just took the right amount of water (plus a little extra) because at that point I was still worried about water and used nursery water.

Oh yeah, definitely use the disposables. I took one "real" bottle with just in case......of what, I'm not sure. But I think I used that at night since it was a little easier to make. But the liners really lighten the load.

It's not that hard, just takes some planning....

I don't know if you are aware of this, but the baby centers in the parks have microwaves. It is so convienient!:) I always utulize the baby centers because they have huge, nice changing areas (that are always being sanitized), rocking chairs, microwaves, high chairs, nursing rooms, toddler play rooms and so much more.

My DS was on good start only so we went and bought the 8oz premixed cans and the playtex bottles they were great. I never had to worry about anything. I would bring 2 nipples and 4 liners and 2 bottles just in case. You can wash them out in the baby care center.

I use the Avent disposables and bring into the parks one 'bottle' a baggie with 10 liners (incase he needed electrolytes for the sweat factor) and then as many extra nipples as i imagined i'd need in an outing (3 maybe at most we take breaks). However that brand you can get caps for the nipples so the extra nipples already have the rings, clear caps on top and a cap on the bottom so they are clean when you put them on and when you take off the last dirty one i don't have to worry about it dripping all over our bag. Very nice feature of that brand. With me for travel i bring a box of liners (100) it's a small box, 3 bottle forms, 5 nipples, and then 1 regular standard bottle for night time feedings kind of seemed wasteful if we were in the room and less assembly.
