Hi. i recently read a post from someone who went to Disney in December during the week that Pop Warner does their gig at the Wide World of Sports...they wrote that the parks were so crowded they couldn't move. My original reservation was for that week (12/3) and my travel person assured me that it wasn't an issue...but I reserved the week of 12/14 (after thay leave) just in case. Is 12/14 week getting too close to X-mas break or do you think the parks will still be be "uncrowded' then? Thanks, Moppy :confused3

Don't worry about it!!! We were there at the same time in '03...it was a non-issue for us. We even stayed at AllStarMusic where a lot of the teams were. It was never a problem. Sometimes if you hit it just right you might find yourself on the bus with a ton of the kids. But if you get to the foodcourt early you'll be fine. Same with the buses. The parks were never crowded due to the kids. The only time we were impacted was when they closed MGM early one night for a private Pop party. But that wasn't a huge deal.
So, go and don't worry about it. You'll be fine.

I'm with Goofy4 Tink. We've been twice during Pop Warner week and didn't find the parks crowded either time. If there were any temporary crowd issues, it wasn't because of the Pop Warner kids - they were barely noticeable in the parks. We encountered a few small groups later in the week in the parks and on buses, but they had zero impact on crowd issues. I understand that they're pretty busy during the day with practices/performances/games. The people who had the most issues with the kids were those who stayed at the same resorts that the kids stayed at. If you stay where they aren't, you'll hardly notice them. Personally, I wouldn't reschedule my trip because of Pop Warner. It's just a perfect week to go, with the low crowds and Christmas decorations and events.

We just opted to stay at a Deluxe our entire stay rather than to split between Pop and AKL.

We were there last Dec. during pop warner week- it was Dec. 5-11. We stayed at POFQ and had no problems! There were some groups at POFQ and POR and I saw them two times on the buses- I think they must have been grouped together in the hotel and we weren't around them. There was a crowd at the food court late one night- but it wasn't a problem. As far as the parks- no problems there either! The longest we waited in line for any ride was around 15-20 minutes- most rides were 5-10 minute waits or walk ons. The crowds were much larger at the two MVMCPs we attended than in the parks during the day- but that is another thread. We did see a few groups of teens a couple of times waiting in line- we just did another ride and came back to the original choice. This past year they had a special event at MGM Friday night- I think it is an annual thing. MGM is closed early for this and it was getting more crowded in the afternoon. Personally, we plan to go back that very week Dec. 2006- so I definitely say don't change your plans! The parks were not crowded at all!!!! I would just avoid the all stars and ask to be placed away from the groups at the moderates. Go and have fun!!! It is wonderful with low crowds and all the Christmas stuff!!!

We also went last year 12/3-12/11 during Pop Warner and didn't have any problems-we stayed at the WL though. ;)

We were also there for the entire pop week last year and there were no crowds . The little groups of kids we ran into were well behaved and didn't cause any problems. I would go back that week in a heartbeat!
