Hello everyone, my mom is taking my daughter to Disneyland this November for a special trip. She’ll be the one running their lightning lane passes but she sometimes finds tech stressful. Is there anyway I can do to help make it easier ahead of time? They’re going for a Saturday and Sunday and staying on Disney property. Thanks!

Unfortunately, no. LLMP requires you to be tied to your phone most of the day to maximize its value. I actually don't mind LLMP, but this is my biggest critique.

None of it is hard, and I'm sure with practice your mom can book LL easily from the app. She'll easily be able to make good use out of LLMP by simply booking every 2 hours.

It would be possible I suppose for you to be logged in from home and help them, but that sounds extremely challenging and not very fun for you!

Has she watched anything on youtube yet? I bet you can find something there that demonstrates its use. I think AllEars (??) is a pretty good channel for that type of stuff.

Your mom will need to do it herself unfortunately. Before the trip you can get the app and walk her through the various things she'll need to do. It's pretty easy to practice from home. She can try ordering food and figure out how to book LLs. Maybe tell her that the CMs in the park are happy to help, too. I stopped by one of the umbrellas once to ask about rides that are ok for a bad back and they gave me a whole list.

Is your daughter old enough to use the phone yet?

She’s 5! So probably not old enough to help with the phone yet lol. Do you all think a magic band would help? Also can the lightning lane reservations be made ahead of time? I feel like I’m seeing different things online!

A magic band would help because your mom won't have to use her phone to scan into rides or the park entrance(Except the first time). She'll still need to book the LL on the phone.

Some people get pre-booked LL but that's only if they have disability services.

And the Magic Band only lets her use the MB to scan in to the rides, versus scanning in using her phone (so doesn’t reduce the “tech” part really at all). The “tech part” is booking the LLs, keeping track of when she can book the next one, modifying times (this is probably more than she wants to tackle, based on your post). You can definitely log into the Disney app as your mom on your phone and book/modify all LLs for them. Busy day for you, but it may alleviate stress for your mom.

That makes sense, I don’t think I would mind logging on for her and taking care of it as long as it won’t log her out or something like that!

My 4 yro grandson just tells me which buttons to push…. those littles come programmed for tech❤️. They’ll be fine and take care of each other, what a wonderful way to spend a weekend

I took screenshots of the tickets from the phone and printed them out and taped them to a phone sized piece of cardboard and it really expedited the lightning lane scan in process for me and my partner, i taped them on opposite sides of the same piece of cardboard and it was just a matter of sticking the barcode into the scanner, waiting for the ding, and then flipping it around for the other barcode. It worked like a champ and if you're able to do basic picture cutting and manipulation in the computer, it really isn't difficult to make.
The only thing that would've made it better is if I had remembered to print and add the photopass QR code to the card too, then I would've barely had to touch my phone except to book new lightning lanes and check the standby lines during my trip. Definitely saves a bit of battery.

It will not log her out. We are always logged in on several phones, all to my account, at the same time. My kids like to go off and do different rides or head back to the GCH at times. It is no problem at all. Wishing them a fun and special trip!

Just beware the Disney app logs people out all the time, regardless of how many people are logged in!

This has nothing to do with multiple people being logged in at once, just the app itself. Set up the finger print log in if possible.

That’s a great idea!
