i am really excited because we finally got into an on site hotel for Tuesday. We are going to both parks for one day combined. I had subscribed to touring plans but he doesn't seem to have a specific plan for people with express passes. We can't do early entry as we have to drive two hours that morning. Should I still start at Despicable Me?

DE usually has long line waits except for the express lines.
if you are staying at one of the 3 deluxe hotels, you will be set for the day in using the express lines.

with attendance up for the day you will be there, hopefully you will only have 15 minutes max waits for rides in the park that have express lines.

You really don't need a touring plan with EP.

We saw queues of over 90 minutes with DM last September.......we always had little or no wait with EP.

Have a look at the park maps at www.universalorlando.com and familiarise yourself with the layout of the parks and from there you can see what you want to do and what you want to miss.

I don't believe Diagon Alley lets you use EP so i would probably start their first. Try to hit that when crowds are low early in the day then utilize the EP with all of the other rides when those queues build up later in the afternoon. I am in the same boat as you with staying on site and EP so thats my plan for the end of April.
