Hi - we are going to WDW for the first time this Feb 9-12, staying 3 nights at the Port Orleans Riverside, with the DDP (regular) plan. It is DH and I, 4yo dd (no food allergies), and 2 yo ds (multiple food allergies, limited diet). We are already planning on bringing in lots of safe snacks for ds as there is not much he can safely get at disney (allergic to milk, soy, gluten, egg, corn, some spices, etc).
We are using our TS credits on a Princess Storybook Dinner at Akershus, a CP late breakfast, and a CP dinner.
I read on here that the CS credits are pooled, which will help tons. I have also contacted WDW dining many times to find out which CS places can best accomodate ds's needs (ie hand cut french fries, rice pasta, etc). So our meals will really need to be planned out for CS things based on that.
Here is where I need help: I know that WDW says that under 3 eats free - sort of. For buffet, they eat free from parents plate. From CS, I plan on having ds share my meals.
My confusion is in how to do this with his allergies. Ex - I want to get safe french fries for him at Main St in MK. (we will have packed safe fruit and lunch meat for him since he can't eat their burgers/hot dogs). I would *like* to be able to order an adult burger/fries CS meal - safe fries for him, the burger for me. Will that work? Or would I have to order ala carte kiddie fries for ds that are safe?
I'm even more confused for the ts/buffet meals. I want to be able to order safe food for ds, but at the same time don't want to be limited entirely by his diet. How would you approach this? Would I have to order safe foods for ds, and he and I would share them? Would it just be easier for me to again order ala carte for ds (oh, wait, would I have to pay the kid buffet fee? Hate to do that for the amt of food an allergic 2yo will eat, kwim?).
Can someone help me make sense of this? TIA!
