Need advice! Canon SD1000 or Nikon s50?

HI!

I want to buy a very thin point and shoot digital camera. I've narrowed my choices down to these two. Any advice on which to buy would be greatly appreciated. Since the Nikon is fairly new, I am having a tough time finding reviews on it. Anyone own one? How about the Canon? They are both about the same price. The Nikon does not have a traditional lens that comes out from the camera. It all stays inside. Is this an advantage or diadvantage? Does it affect picture quality? Thanks for any help!

Main points of differentiation would seem to be the fact that the Nikon has IS, a larger LCD, and a higher price; other than that, they seem pretty similar.

If I were deciding between these two models only, I'd have to go with the Nikon, based on its having IS.
