My family and I are heading to disney 9/17 thru 9/25. We already have airfare and I booked the kids stay and play for POP century. Originally I planned on doing the dining plan but we have since changed our minds since we don't think we really want (or need :lmao:) that much food.
Now we are considering doing a split stay by staying at POP the first part (until 20th or 21st) and changing to WL. So before I go messing with a perfectly good reservation, I wanted to ask a few questions
1. To do this, do I only need to adjust my current package by making the checkout day the 20th and keeping our 8 day park hoppers. Then book a room only with the 40% discount at WL for the duration of our stay?
2. Is it a really big deal to change resorts midway through? I know many of you do this and from what I see you just take your bags down to bag services and they will take care of getting it to the next resort while you go enjoy the parks, then check in after 4 at WL.
I'm kind of neurotic and don't do well with the unknown, fortunately hubby is fine with unknown and he would be able to take care of any problems. :rotfl:
Thanks in advance for your help!

Yep just call and say you want to do a split, you want to change your original leaving date to Sept 20 and then sept 21-25 room only at WL. You can still keep your 8 day hopper. The only thing is you will have to pay 1 night hotel deposit. I assume you paid $200. for the package. It is easy I did it last year, we took our luggage down to bell hop desk, the put tags on it write name and number of baggage. We went on a cruise so they put it in storage we just went and gave our tag they took everything out of storage and we took it ourselves. Good Luck!!! I think I pretty much covered all , if not someone else will ....:thumbsup2

We just recently booked this way! :thumbsup2

We are booked at Pop Century from September 13-16 with the Kids stay and play with 8 day MYW tix then we head over to the Beach Club from 9/16-9/20 with our 40% off pin room only ressie.

I know you can get get your luggage transferred between resorts but we just plan on checking out of Pop in the morning on the 16th and taking a cab ride to the Beach Club with our luggage so we don't have to worry about it. Then we'll check in to the Beach Club, have breakfast at Cape May and enjoy Stromalong Bay while we wait for our room to be ready!

We are so excited because by using the two discounts, we can actually try a deluxe this time!

I think if you have a good plan, the move shouldn't be a problem! Good luck! :goodvibes

just a question because I don't know. Does the Kids Stay and Play include the dinning plan? Just wondering Thanks:goodvibes

If the DDP is part of the Kids Stay and Play. When you move to the 40% off code you will have to use up your dinning credits by the end of that day correct, or you will lose them?:goodvibes

Id the DDP is not included I guess it doesn't matter.

Thanks

This thread inspired me to try the split stay- we're starting at pop for 3 nights, with 7 day tickets on the "kids play free" offer. Then moving to AKL with pin for room-only discount the last 3 nights.

How do the tickets and cards work? Will they transfer the tickets to the second room card when we switch resorts?

And do you have to make arrangements ahead of time to have them move your luggage for you, or can I do that when we get there?

I dont know if they will do it that way, but we did that last year and we just had our park tickets and our room keys. Way easier for me, I just kept the park tickets in my park bag and had the room keys for the hotel.

I changed my reservations today to staying at POP 9/17-9/20 with 8 day park hoppers and staying at WL in a woods view bunk room from 9/20-9/25. We are very excited!
As far as the tickets, from what I understand you can't get them transferred to the new room keys. You will have to just keep the tickets from POP to use for the duration of your stay and then have a room key only for the other hotel you choose.
I read someone said they just write on the cards with a sharpie to designate which is which. You won't have to carry all the room cards then either, so a family of 4 won't need 8 cards, just 5 or 6 depending on if you take one or two room cards.
We will probably just have bell services transfer our bags. Now I have to figure out how to bat my eyelashes enough to get a glimpse of the castle from my room :rolleyes1:flower3:
