We have two possible dates to choose
April 20-25 grad night weekend? shorter trip
May 21-27 longer trip, schools out, week before Mem Day
Three of us, dh, dd 10, and me.
DD first trip, can't wait to see her face!
Will stay on site, will drive to WDW. It will take us a day to get there. Should we check in to WDW, that evening? Or find a room outside and go next day? Not sure of tickets, hopping or not to. Need to see if the dinning option with tickets will be worth it. Would like to to at least one Char. Meal. Chef Micky? Not sure. Would like some help! Thank you!

I would do: May 21-27 longer trip, schools out, week before Mem Day

The whole month of April will be spring break crowds and really busy. If you go before mem day in may, spring break is over by then, and some schools will still be in session. I vote for may!

I vote for May as well!

I'd wait for May week also. I know it's harder to wait that extra month but April can be a real nightmare time with Spring Breaks for various schools. That week before Memorial shouldn't be as bad as the actual week of Memorial too!

Thanks for the info, I was worried about April. Yes! I want to stay longer too!! :)
Would you go directly to WDW the travel day? But, I think that if we get the hopper tickets, we could start using them that night, we would be getting in after 6pm, since we are driving there.

Ideas?

Thanks!!

Hi, I'm assuming you mean this April or May, 2005. Since Easter is so early this year, I would go with April. We went last April at this same time, and the crowds were very manageable and the weather was just perfect. April is our favorite time of year as long as Easter doesn't interfere! But if you want a longer trip, I guess May would be it.

As for using one of your days on your park hopper pass, it really depends on how late the park you are visiting is open and if it's worth it to you. As a rule, we don't use a day on our passes if we arrive later than 4 pm. We have dinner at a resort (usually Chef Mickey's) instead, and get a good night's sleep!

Whatever you decide, I'm sure you'll have a wonderful trip!

Can you get a resort room and not have a ticket? I thought you had too have both? Just a littel confused.

I looked up your dates in the Unofficial Guide... The April dates look to be less crowded according to their projections. But the May dates will give you more time so I guess you can see just as much with more days. Tough call... do the rates change between the two dates? That would be a factor for me.

You can get a room only reservation and purchase your tickets seperately. Packages don't usually save you money unless it's a special case. Lots of people book room only with a AAA discount and then wait for another special code to come out for room discounts. There is also the chance of getting an AP rate for room only reservations... Those are very good rates. I have AP rate for my April trip to POFQ $104 a night. Hope this helps :flower1:
