We have two adults and five children. So far we've tried a few different things. The first year we had my mom and her husband with us and we did two family suites at ASMusic. The next time we did two standard rooms at ASMovies. Most recently we rented a home off site (we loved the amenties, but had a bad experience with the house). Anyway, we would love to stay on site in a villa, but even if we rented points I'm pretty sure we'd spend way more than we'd like. We'd like to try to find a resort/hotel/suite this year that can fit all of us without having to rent two separate/adjoining rooms.

There's just a few things we'd really like to have where we stay: washer/dryer (in our room), complimentary breakfast, housekeeping and enough beds to sleep 7 people. I should also mention I'm VERY VERY picky about it being clean!!! I'm not asking for too much, right?!?!? LOL;) I'd love to hear any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Also, I meant to say I'm looking for off site. I just don't want to do an independent house because we had a bad experience doing that.

I think only the Villas come with a washer/dryer

We just got back from Disney and stayed in a 2 BR at the Beach Club Villas. Amazing resort. Easily sleeps 8. Wasn't cheap, but I believe resorts like Key West, Wilderness Lodge and Sarasota Springs are cheaper.

Housekeeping was very good. Did all the usual stuff like making the beds, new towels and vacuuming, but also washed our dishes every day.

I do think the Villas are your best option if you don't want 2 separate/adjoining rooms.

here are a few shots of the room

The problem with your request is that you want to combine the best parts of a hotel (free breakfast and daily housekeeping) with a condo type resort (washer/dryer in the unit). Not sure you'll find anything like that.

We are staying in December at Mystic Dunes resort. We are in a 2br that sleeps 8 (if you put two on the sofa bed), but they also have 3br units that sleep 12. You'll get your washer and dryer and be very close to the parks. You would have to pay extra for daily housekeeping. They have a continental breakfast by the pool on weekdays, but I think there is a small fee if you're not an owner.

Another option is a 2br at Residence Inn, but probably three beds tops in one of those and you'd have to go down the hall to use the washer and dryer.

Good luck with your search.

I like The timeshare resorts, but you wouldn't get breakfast and daily housekeeping unless you paid extra. I would check out Bonmet Creek, Marriott Grande Vista, Orange Lake, Sheraton Vistana Resorts.

How about a two bedroom at a Residence Inn? They have some nice ones in the area.

Actually, the villas at Caribe Royale may meet these requirements too.

For ONsite, I would check the DIS DVC Rent/Trade Forum and research renting a reservation from a DVC owner. (Please note that you have to be logged in to the DIS to access that site. If you're not, you won't be able to find it.)

At the very top of the page, you'll see a link to DVC point charts. You'll need a 2 bedroom, which has an occupancy limit of 8 (or an SSR Treehouse Villa, with is 3 bedrooms with a capacity of 9 for the same points as a two-bedroom). Rental prices vary, but generally DVC reservations rent for about $10-12 per point.

Before you start inquiring about reservations, be sure to read all of the "Stickies" at the top of the forum -- including all of the links in those articles. There's a wealth of information there, and you need to understand the process before you start.

As mentioned above, with DVC you will not have free breakfast or daily housekeeping (unless you pay for it), but you will have the ability to purchase DDP (outrageously priced, IMHO but YMMV), and all of the other onsite perks like EMH, Magical Express, free theme park parking, etc, etc.

Even renting a reservation from a DVC owner will be somewhat more expensive than offsite options.

I don't rent, so I don't keep up with those prices, but I've repeatedly seen two bedrooms at Wyndham Bonnet Creek going for WELL under $1,000 for an entire week. I've also heard very positive comments about the other resorts mentioned by Heather C above. Wastegate...not so much.

We stayed at Wyndham Bonnet Creek last year. They have 2, 3, and 4 bedroom condos with free bus transportation to the parks. However, they don't have free breakfast (but we bought groceries and just ate in the room) and they don't have housekeeping (but our condo was clean upon arrival). Good luck!
PS--we rented points through an owner instead of renting directly through the Wyndham site--much cheaper.

We just stayed (yet again) in a 2 b/r at the Residence Inn on Palm. The rate was only $119., which was a super deal. Room had 1 king in 1 room, 2 queens in the second room, plus a fold out couch in the living room. 3 tv's, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen and full breakfast daily for free. I had to do some laundry and brought my quarters and soap to the laundry room, not as convenient as laundry in your own room but not really a problem either. Decent pool area with hot tub. Great staff there. Might be worth a look. The free breakfast alone is worth a minimum of $40-50. per day for a family of 7. They also have a Disney shuttle (we've never used it though). HTH

If daily house keeping is a must I would do The Caribe Royale 2 bedroom villas. It's a offsite very nice resort. There is a washer and dryer in the room. Master has a king bed and it's own bath with spa tub and shower. The other bedroom has two queen beds. There is a pull out sleeper sofa bed in the living room. The unit has a full kitchen.

If you can live without housekeeping there are lots of condo rentals in the area where you get a good bank for your buck.
