Help guys! So I just found out I am prego with number 5! I remember past conversations with DH about wishing I had told him in a creative way with the others. I am the worst at keeping things secret from him. I usually just blurt things out. Like I'll buy the best gift ever and i blurt it before his birthday or I'll take the prego test and tell him two seconds later. So this will most definitely be our last and I want to give him his wish. Man it is killing me! I took the test around two and I have talked to him twice already. He works in NC this week so at least he is not around 24/7. That makes it easy not to cave! So I need ideas! Do you guys mind sharing some of the awesome ways you told the Daddy?

Congratulations! We have 4 kids. Most of them were a blurt out.
One though- I made a cake and said Happy Father's Day on it. When he saw it he was confused and then instantly got the message.

I see you have a 1 year old- what about an I'm the big sister/brother shirt on Take a picture and send it to him! Or wait till he gets home and have her in the shirt.

thanx for the idea. I was thinking having the kids each make a t shirt or writing it on the baby's diaper and asking him to change it. I have some more but I want it to be special so not sure which one to use.

I like this idea. :thumbsup2 Or you could have the kids make a sign or a card for him. I think it'd be neat to have the other kids involved in it, however you decide to tell him.

Congratulations, by the way! :goodvibes

You could make him a t-shirt with 5 different ways for saying Dad on it and have the kids give it to him when he gets home.

Like....
Father
Dad
Daddy
Pop
DaDa

OR you could be sitting with your feet up eating pickles and ice cream when he gets home and let him guess. :upsidedow

I found out I was expecting my DS on New Year's Eve 8 years ago. My DD was nearly 2 at the time. I quickly did the math and knew that I'd be due sometime in September. I created an iron-on transfer that had a cute picture of a cartoon baby and the words "Big Sister September 2002" on it and transfered it to one of DD's white onesies. I put her in it and put her down for her nap. About 10 minutes after DH came home from work, she woke up. He went into her room and there she stood, standing in her crib, with her "designer" onesie. It still took him a minute to figure it out, but the look on his face was priceless.

That night, we were meeting my parents, his sister, and a few friends for a New Year's Eve dinner. We brought a cake along and beat everyone to the restaurant to set up a surprise with the waitress. At the end of the meal, a couple members of the wait staff brought out our cake (like it was someone's birthday) and on our cake (instead of a Happy New Year's message) were the words "Happy New Baby September 2002".

The entire thing was so spontaneous, but it all fell together beautifully. It still brings a smile to my face when I think of it!

Congratulations to you and your growing family!!
