My sis and I are going to Vegas in June for a week. We are flying in on Sunday and flying home the next Sunday afternoon. We are staying at TI and are checking out on Fri morning to head to the Grand Canyon. We are staying overnight at GC and heading back late Saturday afternoon, so we really just need a room for that Saturday night.

Should we priceline it? Any suggestions? My sis and I don't mind sharing a king bed for 1 night if we have to. Our only requirements for it are that it needs to be clean and safe and as cheap as we can get with those first two requirements!

I'd look into the Motel 6 on Tropicana. It's right next to the airport, most of their rooms have been recently remodeled and it's within easy walking distance of the strip. As economy hotels go it's probably the best one I've ever stayed in.

We stayed there about 3 years ago and it was a dump. The rooms were small and the beds were hard. I hope it's been remodeled since then. It was $88+ for Saturday night. For one night I'd go Priceline, just look for 3 stars or better.

The motor lodge rooms at Circus Circus are dirt cheap. You can also get a decent rate in their towers or across the street at the Sahara. The Sahara is nice because it's right on the monorail, so you can spend the evening up on the newer part of the strip if you want to. :)

Saturdays can be tough, though. Rates are at their highest everyhere in Vegas on the weekends.

Keep in mind there is a big different in the Vegas hotel market between places connected to a casino resort, and places that aren't. While weekend rates are much higher that weekday rates at the resorts, the price difference at the non-resorts is much less if it exists at all. And while a Saturday check-in in going to be tough at a resort, it's not a problem at the non-resorts.

We definitely don't need a resort for that night. We won't be getting back into Vegas until late in the evening. We were originally going to fly home saturday, but pushed it to sunday to make the day a lot less rushed since we'll be driving back from the Grand CAnyon that day.

I think we'll probably try priceline first.

The La Quinta Inn on Paradise Road usually takes Satonly reservations. The Super 8 on Koval Lane (behind Ballys) is clean and convenient, though at kinda noisy intersection so some rooms might be noisy.
Don't take any two-stars on priceline, you could get a real dump.

The Four queens on Freemont street has inexpensive rates.

we really just need a room for that Saturday night.
Weekends in Vegas are more expensive than weekdays . . . and a lot of hotels require a 2 night stay to push their Friday occupancy. Good luck!

Arizona Charlie's Boulder has (depending on which Saturday) $53.99 - $80.99 rates and it looked like the website was going to let me book just a Saturday night.

We ended up getting a $99 rate on priceline at the Renaissance near the Convention Center. 4 star and it was a very NICE place. I'd definitely stay there again.
