On this particular day we aren't doing any of the major parks but we still need a TS meal. I know that we either have to stick to DTD or a resort rest. We already plan on eating at O'hanas on a different night so that one is out. ESPN Club's menu looks pretty good but I haven't read too many reviews about the place. Basically, I'm stumped and need some suggestions.

Thanks,
A

If you have kids, TRex at Downtown Disney is fun. There are other options in Downtown Disney as well.

Do you have kids? interested in characters? only 2 adults wanting something quiet? what resort are you staying at?

We ate at ESPN a few years ago and it was Ok ... bar food. Not some place we would plan to go back to. I agree that if you have kids, T-Rex or Rainforest Cafe in DTD would be good. Kona Cafe in the Poly and The Wave in the Contemporary are two of our favorites.

You'll probably get more action if you post this on the DP board. Let us know what other places you already have and ages of kids in the group, etc. I've assumed you have 1TS left to plan.

Without having that info here are a couple of suggestions:

1. Beaches and Cream doesn't take ADRs it is a TS on the DP. The meal itself is lighter (burgers, salads, etc.) but dessert is the treat there. So even if you don't make an ADR that place (as well as ESPN Club) is an option.

2. Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodges - fantastic food and great viewing and activities at the Lodge. On an off day I'd go for dinner, though I had breadkfast there 3 weeks ago and it was excellent as well.

3. Character meal: Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary, Fab Five all in one shot

4. Quieter places: Grand Floridian Cafe or Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club

My kids are 3,7,and 9. So far I have Boma, Chef Mickey's b'fast, O'hana's, and some in the parks. I wish I would have thought to add Chef Mickey's for dinner, I seriously doubt I can get it now. We are staying at POR so I guess Boatwright's is also an option.

:) I vote for Whispering Canyon Cafe in WL. 1 TS credit for lots of good food and an endless milkshake plus you can take the boat back to MK and catch your resort bus back to your hotel there. Also Coral Reef at Epcot is really good for 1 TS credit--next to Nemo in the living seas. Have fun:banana:

If you can go either in or out of the parks for dinner, it makes planning much easier. If you can return to any of the park just for dinner, do try 50's Primetime with the kids. The restaurant has some serious characters of its own..lol If going back to the park is not an option, Raglan Road is a great pick too.

1900 Park Fare was a hoot! Cinderella and Prince Charming and the step-mother and step-sisters. Great character interaction from the steps. The food was nothing to write home about but I thought it was pretty good for a buffet.

Raglan Road is great. The food is really good, the bread pudding is fabulous, and the atomosphere is fun-music, Irish dancing, etc.

Pick one of the restaurants at the resorts. The ones at Downtown Disney are not own or operated by Disney. Your experiences there are likely to be much different than a Disney restaurant.

I'd say go with any of the following....

Narcoossees, Boma, Jiko, Kona Cafe, California Grill
