NEC Birmingham

I know some of you know Birmingham well ( well the waiters and the cocktails ) but as I have never been I need a wee bit of help

I have booked something for DH Christmas and we are flying to airport and need to stay very close to NEC

Anyone know idea of distance from Airport - NEC and a nice hotel to lay our heads for one night

Hey Jackie, are you flying into Birmingham Airport ? If so, there is a Novotel Hotel at the airport, literally as you walk out of the terminal. From the airport you can get a little monorail over to the NEC (which is five minutes away). At the NEC there are more hotels, like the Crowne Plaza, Hilton and Premier Inn

Nat, we stayed at the Novotel when we went to see Jasper Carrott and took the monorail over to the NEC (and we're doing so again in a few weeks for the Rock with Laughter show)

ok here goes.....

we live about 5 minutes from the NEC.......

Crowne Plaza - in NEC about 5 minute Taxi ride to airport alternativly you could walk through NEC to the International Station and then get the monorail over to the airport.

Hilton Metropole - again in NEC as above - think they might have a shuttle to go to the Airport

There is a new Premier Inn and another one which the name of escapes me right now, you could walk to NEC from it and again they may have a shuttle.

As Mandy said there is the Novotel on Airport property - walk over the zebra crossing you're there

I guess if you want to get the price down you could stay on the A45 which had loads of guest houses etc up and down it, and then get a taxi - again about 5-10 minutes drive.

I'd forgotten about the Etap, I think it was being built the last time I was there. I agree Sue, you can't beat a bargain

My Hubby Stays at either the Holiday Inn or the crown Plaza near the Nec every week for work, so I would avoid those, hes left them one or two things over the years, Im sure they must have a mountain of his socks somewhere
