Planning a trip for husband's 60th as he wants to take both childrens family including 4 grandchildren. As all are under 6 we do not want to stay too far away from the disney parks.

What is the nearest hotel in terms of walking apart from Disneyland Hotel as this is out of our price range unfortunately?

Is Sante Fe walkable to parks or should we pay more for another Disney hotel?

Also when is the earliest you can book Eurostar tickets?

The Sequoia Lodge and Newport Bay Club aren't too far away as they are around the lake in the Disney village. All disney hotels and the holiday inn, explorers, dream castle and kyriad have free shuttle buses that run regularly to take you too and from the park so it doesn't really matter where you stay you will still be able to get to the park easily. I think the santa fe would be a 15 - 20 minute walk.

and the eurostar tickets for the direct train to disney are currently available up to september 20th

All the Disney Hotels are within easy walking distance, but Santa Fe is furthest away, as previously mentioned about a 20 mins walk, Cheyenne is slightly closer with a 10 - 15 mins walk and then Sequoia, Newport Bay and New York are situated around Disney Lake just at the end of Disney Village. Of these three the New York is closest about 5 mins walk through the village, SL and NPB about 10 mins.
Google Earth has some good aerial pics to get a better idea but basically you're always heading towards the New York and village from each of the other hotels.
All the hotels are served by shuttle buses, but in our experience those heading for SF or Cheyenne tend to be a lot busier than the others, given the proximity I think many tend to walk and it is a lovely walk though the village to and from the hotels and parks.

My personal opinion is if you can afford a little bit extra though, go for the Cheyenne rather than the SF, we've stayed at both and whilst there's no difference in the rooms, breakfasts etc. the Cheyenne's theming is far superior to the SF and will be appreciated by everyone, but bear in mind the rooms there usually have one queen and a bunk bed, as opposed to 2 queens in the majority of the other hotels.

Hope this helps and keep us informed of your plans. :goodvibes

Thanks for all the advice.

We are not going until June 09, but I like to forward plan as it is important birthday for husband.
