Just booked a VGT rate, for the navigators/obstructed view on the Magic over thanksgiving. Fit into the budget for a kind of last minute decision. We always have stayed in a veranda room, like the additional space and a place to go to get some quite time. Besides the look of the actual veranda, what is the difference between one of these rooms and a normal veranda room? From the description it's about 20sqf smaller but what space are we loosing?

Not sure what you mean by obstructed. The Navigator verandahs are their own category but I have not seen them called obstructed. They are a semi enclosed verandah which has a cutout the shape and size of a large porthole. They have a bench and some nautical touches.

We had an obstructed view Navigator's veranda on our 2014 cruise. The obstruction for ours was a maintenance cage right above our deck. As you can see, the obstruction was not significant and didn't block our outward view at all. We loved this option, because it was cheaper, yet really, just as good as an unobstructed veranda. Also, the rest of the room was normal sized... didn't feel like it was any smaller than other rooms we had been in. IMG_0397 (1).JPG IMG_0390.JPG IMG_0403.JPG

We had obstructed Nav verandah (see photos on previous post) on the Dream in 2014. Not sure if it is different on Magic, but our verandah had the regular chairs, rather than the benches that mmouse37 mentions. I've seen pics of the ones with benches, but ours did have regular chairs (which I was pleased about).
