Navigator App with Kindle?

Hi,

I just found out that my Samsung Galaxy with Tracfone won't work outside the country (US). I looked online to see if there was a way that it would work and found that some people have used their Kindles to download the Navigator app and use it like you would on a cell phone. I have a Kindle Fire 8 HD that I bought in 2016. Would it work with the Navigator App or am I going to need to get a new phone with a new service provider. I really don't want to be without the Navigator app while on the ship. If anyone could help me find a way to do this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I am from Ireland and I have travelled to America and multiple countries in Europe and used my phone with no issues. I also have a Samsung Galaxy phone. When you travel internationally, you need to turn on Flight Mode for the entire trip, then turn on Wifi and you will be able to connect to Disney Cruise Guest and be able to use the app on the ship.

Im just back from a 5 night cruise from England with stops in Spain. I turned my phone to Flight mode when I got on the plane and then switched on Wifi. I did not use my data any any stage during the trip. I just connected to the free Wifi in the hotel, in restaurants, out and about on land and on The Disney Dream.

Try downloading the DCL app on your Kindle. That’s the first easy step. Next -

So long as your device can pick up a WiFi signal, you can use the app. You don’t need a phone connection. Try this at home if you have home internet. Or any place WiFi is available.
