We will be at WDW in late Oct. I'm hoping to get FP+ for FOP and do Navi River ride at rope drop. My question is, is it a mad dash to Avatar land or do they have you in lines outside the gate so when the gate opens they walk you in a line to Avatar land? I know it sounds a little strange but when we were at Disneyland in the spring they formed two lines for the Guardian of the Galaxy ride and walked you to the ride so no mad rush.

Thanks for any info.

How the majority of guests get to the Avatar attractions from the front of the park can depend on the CM(s) who happen to be in charge that day.

In March, we arrived about 10-15 minutes before park opening and missed the crush of rope droppers headed to Pandora (FOP). Leisurely walk back to Navi and no wait for two rides in a row.

We did Navi at RD in late November and we were led there. Most people went to FoP though, so Navi line was nonexistent for a little while. The rest of the park is totally empty at RD, everyone floods to Pandora.

If you are able to, I'd suggest getting there 90 minutes before opening to go right away to FOP then do one or two rides on NRJ. You should be able to do all that less than an hour after the official park opening time. Yes, it can be a bit of a mad dash/controlled chaos to FOP but it will be worth it. If you get your FOP FP+ at the right time, you can have FOP x2 and NRJ x2 all before 10:30-11:00am...
