National with KLM code. Can I go straight to the aisle?

Booked a minivan for October using the KLM code. Very happy with the price and doubt I will find anything cheaper (but will keep looking in case!).

My question is (and forgive me if this has been answered a hundred times; my searches didn't help me find the answer) do I have to wait at the counter or can I go straight to the aisle?

I also need to add my husband as a second driver. I am an Emerald Club member, so I know this is free, but when I was signed in as a member the website was giving me a hard time, so I had to sign out of my EC account in order to book. If I go straight to the aisle, can I just pick a car and then show the attendant at the exit gate my Emerald Club number and have him added?

Thanks in advance!

You need to actually book emerald aisle which means booking a mid size or above. It also has to be done using your EC account.

We've used the KLM code several times and go straight to the aisle.

She said she booked a minivan, not the Emerald Aisle. So she can just go straight to the minivan aisle.

OP have you considered calling and adding your # to the booking? That should resolve the spouse/extra driver issue.

You will be fine. I forgot to use my member number on my ressie. I had booked a midsize, but wanted the emerald aisle. No issue, I walked out to the garage, said I forgot my number when booking, they said, no problem, as I had my number with me, and I picked my car from the emerald aisle, and at the exit, I showed my reservation, my emerald member number, my license, my cc, and my DH's license, as I wanted him as the free extra driver. A few minutes later, we got the rental agreement and a welcome to Florida see ya from the lady at the exit, and we were off. My membership number noted on the agreement and my DH as free extra driver. No issues returning the car either, and I got my credits for the rental.

If you want a minivan, than go to the minivan aisle. When we did the emerald isle at Christmas this past year, we got a Camary LE and there was mosly them, and a small SUV. I would not take the chance the emerald aisle will have a minivan.

Have a great trip!
