I just book an intermediate on emerald isle for 11 days using amex code and entertainment coupon and the total came to 330 including taxes. Is this a good rate? I have not personally rented a car in a long time and this seems like a lot of money. Almost as much as our round trip airfare to WDW from Va.

Any thoughts on whether this a good deal or am i paying too much.

We just got back Sunday. We had a 15 day rental on the aisle for $214.xx total. Maybe August is a more expensive month to rent?

I'm renting in August from the 14th through 21st and so far the best rate I can get at National (Emerald Aisle) is 207.00. I found the travel agent code from Mousesavers.com to be just slightly better than the Amex one.

We're renting from National end of August, intermediate from EA, 11 days, for $185. DH made the reservations months ago and checked these boards daily for codes. He got that price by continually finding codes and rebooking. I think he started out somewhere around $300. Hope you can get your price down!!

I just put in your dates (from your signature) and went through the entertainmentbook site (there is a link on Mousesavers, too) and got a rate of $312 for an intermediate. You might check mousesavers and see if the rate has gone down any - because $330 sounds a bit high to me. Also, this was for pick-up at MCO, right? I've noticed that different locations have different rates. We are not flying but taking Amtrak, so we chose to pick up at the WDW CCC and it dropped the rate by over $10.

Just keep checking the codes. I have a week rate for now about 200.00 which is much higher then I have had in past Augusts. Hopefully by July there will be a few codes to use.

Keep checking the codes. I have an 8 day rental with National Emerald Isle intermediate for $130.36 using Ent Coupon and Priceless code for the last week in August. Rates have gone up since I last checked.

i used the dates in your sig also (looks like 10 days tho...........???), changed p/u to the dolphin.
national intermediate was $249.96 with taxes/fees.

you could use ME, & save $80 that way ~ just a thought :sunny:

Actually we are going to be down on the 23rd at univerasal for 2 days so that makes twelve in all. and we are not planning to return the car until late on the 3rd as our plane leaves at 8pm.

We have a reservation for a full-size with National for $173.96 for 10 days starting on Aug. 17th. I made the reservation ages ago though. I haven't been able to get a rate close to it since.

Keep trying though - rates tend to drop as the time gets closer.

Ok, I keep reading about how you check codes, for the lowest car rentals. I am so lost. Can anyone check for me, for Oct 17th, oct 26 2005 a minivan. I have the entertainment book. I have mousesavers, but i really dont understand the whole concept :confused3 . I really want to save the most I can. :wave2: Thanks so much everyone :flower:

Hi Faindrops,

I am still new to this also... But if you read the mousesavers web page about rental car discounts it explains it pretty well. Basically you go to the national car rental site and try pluggin in the discount codes on the mousesaver web pages and see what kind of rate you can get. You can try different combinations of codes and not all codes work at all times. Just check mousesavers for more details.

Hope that helps.
