National Full Size SUV's

I've done a search and I can't find the exact information I'm looking for. What kind of SUV's has anyone gotten from National on Emerald Reserve. We're a group of 8, but that includes 4 smaller kids that are out of car seats so we should have room in a full-size SUV. We're staying in a vacation home so we have to have a car and we almost have to make one car work.

Also, has anyone had any experience with foldable luggage racks. We're thinking of carrying one down in our luggage and attaching it once we pick up the car. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks

I don't have any info on the SUVs, but you may want to consider 2 cars instead. It is nice to be able to split up when you have a larger group. It helps keep everyone friendly.

The one option I probably don't have is to rent two cars. The only person comfortable driving in unfamiliar territory is me. Even if it means renting a full-size van. The best option is a full size SUV with a luggage rack to mount a carrier on.

Please don't think of me as judgemental. How do you plan to fit 8 people in a 5 seater vehicle? I stuff 8 in a 7 seater minivan all the time and 9 some of the time. I've had 11 people in a 9 passenger Suburban. But I can't conceive stuffing 8 in a 5 seater.

If you go to the National web site, you can see the cars they have under each class. I think that they may even have Suburbans, but I'm not sure. Good luck and I hope it works out well for you!

The full size SUV's on the National site say they seat 8. These are suburbans or navigators, something along that size. The National site does not tell you what size vehicles they have in that class. It says picture not available or some such.

We had a Durango. I asked if they had a Suburban, but they said only Durangos. It was a nice vehicle, though.
