National EA ressie ? re: credit card you use to reserve

OK, so some of you probably read my post on DH losing his wallet, hence all our credit cards are cancelled.

One of the credit cards that had to get cancelled/re-issued is the card I used to reserve our rental car here in 3 weeks.

I have a Emerald Club ressie so I have a profile.

Here's my question: I can put a new number in my profile, but will that change in the current ressie I have?

Can I change the credit card on the reservation without messing up my good deal. I have a $98 rental for a week...last I checked it was much higher than that. I don't want to mess something up.

OR...can I just show up, get the car and at the check out booth hand them the new card and be good to go?

The website has no info on this that I could see. I can call if needed. Anyone have an idea?

changing your credit card information into your profile should not change anything on the reservation

since you have to present your credit card to the attendant, the new information should "jive"

Last time I forgot that I had a different credit card on my National profile. When I handed them my Disney Visa, they said "oh, you want to use this card instead". Then I remembered that I did not bring the card on the reservation. I was no problem, she slid the Disney Visa through and it was charged to that.

I had my purse stolen shortly before a trip last year. They had no problem with me giving them a different card at the booth - they just keyed it in.
