National EA question

I joined the Emerald club last year. Mainly because I wanted the free 2nd driver. We have a motorhome and usually drive to Disney and pick up a car at the Car Care Center. The first time I rented an intermediate, the second time a full sized.

Since they don't have an Aisle and you have to go to the counter (correct me if I'm wrong) can you still request an upgrade? I asked for a mini-van when I picked up the full sized in December and the woman told me it would be an extra $115. I told her I would take the full size car (Pontiac Grand Prix). Which by the way was a nice car for the 3 of us but when we invited our friends to join us (older couple) they had a hard time getting in and out of the car.

I guess I'm asking is how does this membership work? From what I read it says that if you rent a full size or higher you can pick from what's available in the Aisle. Is there an Aisle at the Car Car Center?

I have a Equinox reserved for our March trip and would prefer a mini-van if it is available.

Hi,

There is no Emerald Aisle available at the Car Care Center. If you reserve a full size, they will most likely give you a full size. Costs of any upgrades depend on who's working at the counter and vehicle availability.

Your Emerald Club benefits won't really apply at the Car Care Center. You will have to go to the counter and get the size you booked.

At MCO, you would also go to the aisle of the size you booked.

If you booked an Intermediate, you can go to the Emearld Aisle and hope for an upgrade but it isn't guaranteed. With an Intermediate, your level of service is Emerald Aisle.

All other sizes, you'd go to that aisle and pick from that size's aisle. This service is called Emerald Reserve.

Neither service is available at the CCC.

Believe last post covered it but you dont ask for an upgrade at EA - usually you dont talk to anyone until you drive to the exit person. Just pick a car and drive. One poster stated that there was a Saturn SUV in EA but nothing is guaranteed. At Car Center it would be like the pre-EA days. ie: counter service.
