National Contract ID for AmEx holders!

I was digging around online and found a code that said it was an AmEx promotional code. I tried it and get a MUCH better rate than what I was getting before.

I wanted to make sure it wasn't only for holders of a very particular type of AmEx (platinum, blue, etc...)

Per Brian, at National, it is not. As long as you have an AmEx, it will work. I do have and plan on using an AmEx to reserve and pay, so I didn't ask if you need to use an AmEx to hold the reservation.

I have used that code in the past and it has produced good rates. I also have an Amex card, so no worries.

Now, it does appear that you called National to ask. I would caution people about calling to ask if they can use a specific code. In this case, it seems fine since OP has an Amex and just wanted to make sure.

BUT, some codes that are "iffy" out there on the internet get shut down in a hurry when people start calling National and asking if they can use them..... folks over at Flyertalk get up in arms about those "Disney message board people".

You could probably do way better thru Alamo. They're having a $20/day for compact weekend special.

We're using this deal in Sept for 2 days and it's like $59 after taxes. Hopefully will get you down under $100.

I was checking on rates for a 8 day car rental and the best I came up with (using several discount codes) is $400, including all taxes and fees.

This is driving me crazy! The last time I rented a car in FL for 10 days and paid $213, all total.

I tried to offer above and it doesn't work for me for alamo.
I tried through National and it did get the rate down to $280, which is more reasonable, gets me out of panic mode and doesn't blow my budget that bad. My return is a different airport and I need to take a shuttle, but at this point, I don't care. :/

This is blowing my budget, so I'm hoping by December (when I go), rates will be more reasonable. *crosses fingers*

Was able to get 3 day rental over Columbus day for $112 total with Free Weekend Day coupon from Entertainment book.

Pick up at MCO and Drop off at Car Care Center. Will use ME to get back to Airport

With Alamo and National just keep looking every day. I have a 9 day minivan for $303, I looked last week to see if rates dropped, it is now over $550 more! My Mom needed a minivan for 2 days in Ft Lauderdale, it was $200, next day dropped to $100 and we finally booked it

Just an FYI, there are some National codes on Mousesavers. The one for Car and Driver magazine gives you a free second driver. Discount is slightly less than AAA discount, but I am going away with my parents and this is a nice perk to have for grocery runs! It is a $14 difference on a 9 day rental. Stacked the rate with an Entertainment Book coupon.

Off to try the amex rate now............. thanks. EDIT- Just tried it $929. It has gone up even more. LOL!

This is a Costco coupon that can be printed off at Costco.com under the Travel tab, car rental tab and National tab.

Anyone can print off the coupon and I have never had to show a Costco card, although I can since I am an employee .
